I've been going to shows for about 30 years. I've seen many things cheesy and I've seen some that were artistically beautiful. I really do feel like there should be stories and productions of all kinds. I've seen BTTF twice in London and although I wouldn't call it the greatest thing ever, it was totally my jam (and yes, I do like the new songs - sue me). I will be going to see it on Broadway too. It's ok if it isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it was made with love over many years for those of us who adore the franchise and want a regular fix of Future with other likeminded individuals. The people who really don't like it seem to be in a tiny minority and when we find ourselves in that position, we sometimes just have to shrug it off.
Taste is subjective reflecting a person or persons experience or feelings relating to a particular subject.(Person, place, thing, activity) .People have a right to express thier subjective opinions without someone else telling them they have no taste.
No one should judge someone else's taste in an attempt to belittle ,insult or embarrass the person.
Unfortunately, in many parts of the country it seems to be people's favorite pasttime.
Saw the matinee today. First act meh, second act much better, with more satisfying nostalgic feels. Roger and Casey were both (very?) good, but Hugh Coles is the MVP (and he’s hot IRL).
Saw the final preview tonight - the show is just filled with families and crowds who had the best time which, for the future of the show I love. It’s tightened up over the past few weeks and I dare say, Roger has even toned it down a notch or two.
I don’t think I’ve ever had less of a clue how reviewers are going to treat a show, than with this one so tomorrow will be fascinating. I truly have a feeling they won’t matter all that much either way.

Was there too. Agreed. Took my 10-yo and she liked it for the most part, but said some parts were cringey (accurate). 2nd act was definitely better, and the finale is incredibly well-done; reminded me of seeing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at “The Hilton” where the car was also the MVP.
The rehearsed manic, faux-spontaneous banter got tiresome, and Bart’s character voice totally vanishing during his songs was odd. Warmed up to the Seymour-like/too-handsome George once I bought into his Crispin Glover act; his shadings and character development moved it beyond a simple impersonation after a while. (The song in the shaky tree only barely sputtered to life). A fun matinee with a 5th grader and my eyes didn’t roll as much as expected (esp. as it progressed along.) But I can’t remember a single one of the new songs. Oof.

This is the most common complaint I have seen about this show, but it's honestly not a thing I need from a musical. I find it impossible to remember any song after only one listen. Spotify is my friend.😉 Can you give me an example of a song from a musical that you did remember after a first viewing?
