i knew a cast member (Melissa), who was in the original cast. I was chaperoning a field trip, and we all went onstage. It was pretty cool. Everything is hanging from the ceiling. On this tour we met Sean McCourt and michelle Federer - but most of the cast was on their way out. The one really great thing was, I got to hold the Green baby. The stage actually looks smaller when you're standing on it, as does the house.
what does Adam Fleming have to do with anything?

that is what i'd like to know star2b. hahahaha
I'm not arude person at all. but i DO speak my mind. and the "wicked" crap on here... especially the pointless questions.. gets VERY old VERY fast. This board used to be a wonderful place for discourse, but over the past few months, with the influx of the rabib rabib fans and 12 year olds, it has become more of an annoyance than anything else.
and for the record, I am NOT infatuated with Adam Fleming. Hmm.. I see NO mention of Adam, myself, and a photo on here.. so.... and as far as the signature quote, what do you care? It's like a review on an official website. lol.

Okay i didnt really read this entire post so i dont know if someone mentioned this, if you're a national thespian member and go to the theatre early and present your card and id, you can ask if there is anyway. i know the st. james lets you in following the production to look around backstage for 15 min. it really is beneficial to be in the society lol

You know, some 12-year-olds have some very interesting things to say. I wish you wouldn't generalize people by their ages. While it is true that many young people are ignorant and just like to think they knoweverything about Broadway and beyond, some are actually interested and really do know something.

like the fact that rent opened in 96.. but other than that..

I only brought up Adam Fleming because I know how some people can be. Some people's egos go through the roof when they feel they have a personal connection with a "star" or "celebrity" (not that Adam Fleming is one, but he might be a star to some Broadway folks) and they end up thinking they are so special and great. I only asked broadwayguy2 if it had anything to do with him.
So, broadwayguy2, if you feel there is an influx of useless and pointless posts, why do you get yourself involved with them? Wouldn't it be more sensical to avoid them and not post in them at all and leave them for the "12 year olds"? It's like seeing a hot iron and grabbing it, and you know it burns, but you still grab the iron every time you see it.
And there is also a way of speaking your mind without being rude. Why do so many people think that "speaking your mind" is synonymous with "being rude"?
I'm not sure if it changes for some theaters..but I thought you can just walk pst the stagedoor.. but there was a scary bodyguard when I was there...

I'm serious.
I was 12 once. I should know. I have loved Broadway for as long as I can remember. I saw my first Broadway show when I was 13, and before that I spent my time learning as much as I could. I learned quite a lot, and I knew quite a lot more than "rent opened in 96." Maybe I'm just strange, but I'm not the only one. I see your point that some kids like to think they know everything, but not everyone is like that.

Joshua, you have NO idea about who I am or am not nor who I know or do not know, so really.. don't go there.
we have all tried to be nice to some people on here, but some of them don't understand anything except bluntness/rudeness.

lol, Broadway_Bound_Star... you can't just walk in. Good try, though. It might work some places, but not the Gershwin.

Broadway_Bound_Star: I noticed that at the Neil Simon Theater (HAIRSPRAY), anyone could have walked in the stage door. It was not locked and the bodyguard was nowhere to be found. It's possible that he was inside, but when you go in that stage door, there is a stairwell to the upstairs, and anyone could have snuck up there. Again, they probably would have been caught eventually, but if you are sneaky enough, it may be possible. Didn't seem too secure to me...

you can NOT just walk in.. that is NOT a public area.

I have NEVER tried to act like I knew you. If you look, you'll see that I have ASKED you questions and NOT assumed anything about you. So, once again:

...Just in case you feel like justifying yourself.
And I didn't say it was RIGHT to just walk in, but it is physically possible. Nobody should walk in if you aren't supposed to, but you actually can.

Yeah, but I do understand it is invading their privacy, do I just usually stand ouside of the stagedoor and compliment them
"you can NOT just walk in"
Well, you could.
But 'could' and 'should' are two very different things.

I bet... thing is, the Neil Simon is different from the Gershwin. Yeah, you could probably walk in, but why? You'd get caught, probably.
At the Gershwin, though, you can't walk in. There's usually someone there, and there's all kinds of people inside that will wonder what the hell you're doing there, even if you DO get in.
And you DEFINITELY shouldn't. That's really rude, especially if you're uninvited.
I'm sorry, don't mean to sound rude. Sorry. But it's true.

Precisely, StickToPriest! Ooh, someone understands me...! LOL
And I just read this whole thread.
Why is everyone getting on BG2's case?
He usually is one of the nicest people around.
I feel bad for the stars though, because as soon as they walk out they get bombarded with cameras stuck in their faces and wanting people to sign their playbill..

Yes, I agree. I guess you "could" but you won't get very many chances, because there's often someone standing there. When there isn't, you "could," but you "should" not, obviously, because it's really rude.
But you already knew that. But yeah, I know what you mean.
Again, reading what I just wrote, it sounds mean. I don't mean to be rude. Sorry.

Yes, that can be annoying to the stars, probably. But you have to understand that they shouldn't be surprised by this. I think that anyone in this day and age that is trying to be a face in the entertainment industry (be it stage, film, TV, etc.) should be prepared for the day when the paparazzi is in their face. When you go to the supermarket, you can see how much celebrities are followed. So I think that the fans and crazed photographers come with the job nowadays... regardless of how moral it is, but it is the truth, sadly.
BG2 really is one of the nicest people on this board. I think this thread just turned out wrong... *sings* why can't we be friendsssss why can we be friendsssssssss!!!
