So I know that Christine Ebersole is front contender for the Best Actress tony but what about actor?
Who do you guys think? Raul Esparza maybe?
RAUL without a question! I would love to see gavin lee get a nomination butthis year is packed with great performers.

Raul but not because he received across the board strong notices from critics and theatergoers. He will win simply because he doesn't have any competition in the leading man category. Maybe DHP will pose a threat but in general, it's a very weak year for men, not Jason Alexander weak but still, weak.
My predictions would be:
Raul Esparza
Michael Cerveris
David Hyde Pierce
Steve Kazee
5th slot up in the air. Possibilities: Jeff McCarthy, Alexander Gemignani, Norm Lewis, Brian D'Arcy James.
McCarthy's role would be Featured.
McCarthy's role would be Featured.
Really? Does THE PIRATE QUEEN have a leading male role?
David Hyde Pearce and Michael Cerveris will certainly give Raul a run for the trophy.
Many people think Cerveris should have won last year and will vote for him this year if the part is strong.
And don't rule out Hadley Fraser from THE PIRATE QUEEN, the boy can sing.
Jonathon Groff could slip into the fifth spot.
Hadley Fraser would be nominated in the Featured category for Pirate Queen before McCarthy. McCarthy is basically only in half the first act and has virtually no significant material (unless there have been major revisions). Hadley should be nominated just for the performance of I'll Be There which features one of the purest tenor voices I've heard in years. It was pretty exciting to hear the obvious favorable audience reaction to his performance, as if caught by surprise to hear such a clear, pure tone almost completely devoid of the trendy pop stylings they were likely expecting. It was one of the few exciting moments in the show, to be honest.
Stephanie and Hadley's names are even as the leads, I think they will both be cosidered in the Lead category.

I wouldn't be suprised if Gavin Lee got a nom. He got the best notices in Poppins.
If Spring Awakening is the front runner for Best Musical, then the deserving Jonathon Groff might get the 5th nom.
I definitely thing Jonathan Groff will take a slot. Behind Gray Gardens, Spring Awakening was the best reviewed show of the season, so it stands to reason that Groff will at least get a nom.

What do you think will take best musical? SA? GG? Curtains?
Raul Esparza should get it, he owns that role. He was so amazing.

While I'm not sure Jonathan Groff deserves the Tony, I think he deserves a Tony nod.
Spring Awakening.. for sure
I wouldn't be so sure. The Tonys, just like any other award show, are all about politics. It may go to what's the most tourable, which SPRING is not.

If Mary Poppins or Legally Blonde are nominated, they would most likely win.
Maybe they can give a Tony to Groff's ego.
