Kinky, no offense at all, but you're about a month and a half late on that conversation...

Kinky, your quite annoying. Like Neon said, they have a small profit window. They would've had to give out over a thousand tickets to Tony voters. Instead of losing that money, they decided to withdraw from consideration. Maybe it wasn't just because of the money, but that was definitely the biggest reason.

Skimble, Concierge will bite your head off if you lie about his precious thread like that.
These kids are fun to call out (not that I'm super old to the boards myself but hey I'm a Legend now).

HA, it isn't even "my" thread! I'm a fan of organization, is that so wrong?

Phillypinto has always been annoying, no matter what username he's using today.

No one is confused about her eligibility. We're simply musing that, were the circumstances different (e.g., this was not a revival), she would likely be a major contender in the race.

I think a lot of these ladies chances are going to be based on how well their shows do. Amelie, War Paint, Anastasia and Bandstand are all up in the air at this point. All the leading ladies who were nominated the last 2 years, their shows were all nominated for best musical or revival

So they did that because they want other shows to be nominated to try and help them out? That's ****ing dumb. Everybody should be eligible. This is about excellence in theatre, not about helping other shows sell well.
Also, why isn't the show just running longer anyway? They should find someone to replace Gyllenhaal.
"
Maybe, possibly, because it's a terrible revival and having his name attached is probably what's drawing their sales.

That sounds more an invitation than insult. But then again, I don't know what you guys are into.

It's generally considered very rude to call someone "insane," because of their theatrical preferences. I certainly have some unconventional favorite shows, but I've never been called insane for them. Nor have I said that to someone who disagrees with me (which, given the mixed response of my favorite show, is quite a lot of folks).

How much of a chance does Christy Altomare have?

^Not much. The competition is pretty tight this year.

As far as any of us know (unless one of y'all is a voter) everyone has a chance.

If we're talking about landing a nomination, she has a bit of a chance, but she has a lot of really strong competition from women in really showy roles. If we're talking about winning, which I thought that Kinky was asking, she has literally no chance at all.

I think most people are of the mindset that the Tony is Bette's to lose. Even though I, personally, will be rooting for Christy if she gets nominated (I rooted for Bright Star last year, so I'm used to rooting for the underdog haha). For the record, I always think when people talk about chances before the nominations come out, they're talking about chances for a nomination. But that's probably because I don't even think about wins until after the nominations come out. Though I completely respect and understand that everyone is different in that regard.

If I were on the committee, I would nominate Christy. I think she is terrific in Anastasia. The award is Bette's to lose, but I think she has a great chance of landing a nomination, especially if Anastasia is well received.

I think Christy has the strongest chance of a nomination of the young women. I expect Anastasia to be well received which will help her too. I'd be surprised if she didn't make it. Let's not forget there's still two spaces even when we count Bette, Patti and Christine (if both of the latter two manage to get nominated).

I'd be 1000000% surprised if Benton isn't nominated. The show's doing well, it was well-received, etc.

I think people also recognize that Benton wasn't as good as she should have been either...
