In your opinions, what casts have been the best about coming out the stage doors and signing autographs and taking pictures? Any really bad experiences??
When I went to see Sweet Charity, Dennis O'Hare was REALLY nice and took pictures with us and signed the playbills. The door guard told eveyone to leave because Christina Applegate wouldn;t come out for the matinee.
We decided to wait a little anyway, and sure enough out came Christina Applegate, she wasn't very friendly, but it was still very exciting
Gregory Jbara and Megan Hilty are also REALLY nice!
Anyone else?
The Lennon cast was all really wonderful.
Also, Megan Hilty is a sweetheart.
I've found the best all-around casts to be Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Avenue Q, Spelling Bee, and Sweeney Todd.

Heh. The best stage door is the Shubert.... because the man who works there is hot as hell
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
In my experience, it's Sweeney Todd. Everyone on that cast is amazing, and incredibly gracious. And if you're lucky, you'll get to witness some hilarious Patti-isms.
All Shook Up. Not only was the cast nice, but their stage door system really worked, because they got to everyone.

Oh yeah. All Shook Up's cast was great as well, but I was only referring to shows still playing.

The Pajama Game cast is very nice. Just know that only Harry uses the 43rd street exit....everyone is leaves via 42nd street.
Yes, Patti usually does photos. I got a pic with her, and she was really sweet and funny. I've heard there are days when she politely says no, though.
Is it possible to Catch Harry at the 43rd stage door and ctach Kelli and the rest at the 42nd? or vice versa? And is the 42nd street exit a door, or just through the theater doors?

If Harry comes out quickly, you can run around the block and catch Kelli. Harry's usually out in 10 minutes, Kelli takes a little longer. The 42nd street side is the entrance to the theater.
thanks for your help, i'm becoming a stage door addict. Any other great stage door stores?
Stagedooring at RENT was a lot of fun. They're all really nice.
Well, a story with a lesson: a friend of mine and I went and saw Piazza this summer, and afterwards stage-doored. I love those mini Sharpies, and always keep a few with me for stage dooring because I find it easier.
As each person came out, we found that no one had any Sharpies, so I ended up having to share them with everyone, and though I had no problem with sharing, it really confused the actors, and made it feel kind of awkward and uncomfortable to have to pass my Sharpies down the line all the time.
Moral: please bring your own Sharpies or something just in case if the show doesn't have one of those barricaded stage doors.

I also really liked the Lennon cast.
I saw the Little Women touring cast and they were all really sweet!

yes, sharpies are very handy....
Note: never hand an actor (ahem Julia Murney) a miny-sharpie keychain, with keys attached. The actor (ahem Julia Murney) may walk away with them and you may have to chase him (Her) down the street to get it back.
It does provide for a good story, though.
Sweeney Todd- Amazing. I love the fact that the cast is so small and they are all just so gracious and kind.
Avenue Q- The nicest cast currently on Broadway.
Gypsy 2003 Revival. Awesome cast and stage door experiences.
Well even though these shows aren't on anymore:
-ALL SHOOK UP for sure (yay popular_elphie, you rock!)
-BKLYN
-Lennon
Show currently on: Hairspray... quality people
and imo DRS has a Dirty Rotten stage door guy but nice actors. Anyone agree?
Completely agree w/ you about the DRS stage door guy, he started yelling us to leave when he told us Sherie and Joanna had already left
Ooh, ditto on the sharpies. I carry a pretty silver sharpie with me everywhere, and end up sharing it a lot. The actors certainly don't mind, but it gets confusing sometimes remembering that I'm the one to give it back to.
Heh, Yankeefan. That was funny though.
