Bette's cake - no Happy Birthday?

It was beautiful and I am sure much appreciated. Girl.; talk about trying to twist things up.

In case you need to know... there was another red cake that they served to the cast before the show. It said "Happy Birthday, Bette!" in the same font as the show logo. Sorry they didn't show that to you.
(Edited to remove last name and add exclamation point!)

I'm sure Bette happily ate a tiny piece of it regardless.

If the cake is meant to look like the show logo, that logo does tend to use her last name.
If you're above the title in a show, and they make a cake recreating that logo, informality leads to asymmetry.

This is the kind of conversation that makes Jesse Tyler Ferguson feel a need to taunt us.

I guess they consulted PatrickDennis92. I stand corrected, it didn't say Midler.
I hope everyone's happy now!

There are few that don't.

I guess you could say this thread...takes the cake.

Did the cake sexually harass anyone? Did the cake refuse to stagedoor? When is the cast recording for the cake coming out, and why is it not what I wanted the cast recording to be? Will Betsy Wolfe be replacing the cake? Was it a white cake and, if so, why is #broadwaysowhite? Let's all dream cast the cake- Aaron Tveit! Where should I sit to see the cake? What other cakes should I see?

Betsy will replace the cake, and then she herself will be replaced three weeks later by Mandy Patinkin

Pretty sure it was red velvet!

Good lord, Jorge, call it a "Native American Velvet" cake, or an "American Indian Velvet" cake. Better yet, refer to it by its own tribal affiliation! Commentators like you only show the sad state of indigenous representation on Broadway.

This is my favorite response to my thread so far! No one ever said posting on BWW was a cakewalk, right? :)
