On behalf of the 'front row gang'....row A is actually on the RIGHT side of the stalls as you face the stage. The lefthand side is where Billy gets off the stage at the end. There are only about 10 seats in row A. Very close to the stage and orchestra pit, in fact you can almost feel the breeze off of the trumpet when its blown...lol!

Hope that clarifies things.

Spot on as usual ´Be inspired´ Thanks for clarifying the point regarding the stalls lay out for all fans of the show.It is interesting to have a birds eye view of the orchestra from these rows. I wonder how they feel as the conditions they play in seem to me to be quite cramped and claustrophobic.Does anyone know a member of the orchestra so as to comment? One musical point on which I would welcome opinion concerns the accordian accompaniment by the Miner to Billy´s Dads folk song(lament) in the Christmas show. Does he really play the accordian at this point or is this a member of the orchestra? If he does (as I think he does)I can only say: ´ìs there no end to the multi skills shown by the actors in this musical´.
By the way I am on holiday and am suffering Billy Elliot withdrawals!!. Has anything of interest happened in the last week? How is Liam? Is he fully recovered? I hope so.

Cheers for your good wishes´Be Inspired´and for your comment on Big Davie(I had forgotten his name).Sounds like he does play the accordian then. I shall be there on the 16th with a friend and hope it may be James and Ashley. I have sen them the most so far (6 times) to George (4) and Liam (3).I agree that they are brilliant(as all the Billys are) and should be given a real rousing send off by all the fans of the musical. At Ballet it is usually the tradition to chuck flowers on stage for the leads as a sign of approval. I am not sure we would be allowed to do that and anyway what would James and Ashley feel if we did?The mind boggles!!Elton John would appreciate them though woudn´t he(LOL).

As BeInspired has said, I'm pretty sure "Big Davey" plays the accordian. Earlier this week he subbed for Mr Braithwaite and yet still played the accordian during the folk song.

All you people who live so close to London that you can go 30 times plus are so lucky. I could only wish I lived that close. Though my bank manager is probably glad I don't :P I've managed to get down to London 3 times now and by the end of this week will have seen the show 14 times. I'm still trying to arrange another trip before George and Liam finish in December. Unfortunately I certainly won't be able to get down again before James leaves but I hope to see him this week before I head home. I've only managed to catch him once, last Tuesday but he is truly amazing like George and Liam.

As we are all pretty aware, the new Billy Elliot cast recording is hopefully due out soon...

I have found out that all three lads, Liam, George and James have recorded their set pieces now but it will only be one of them that will be added to the finished recording.

What would everyone's wishes be in terms of a special edition cd or some kind of box set?

Lets hope that the producers read this board and can see all the fans comments and suggestions?

Personally I would prefer a box set. It seems a little unfair the way it has been done as clearly one Billy has a stronger voice than the others and a CD will not include the dancing skills of say Liam for example. When will a DVD come out if ever?

I really hope that at some point in the future a DVD could be brought out. I do hope that these early performances are being recorded on film as it would be such a shame if many people didn't get a chance to see Liams "Electricity", Georges "Angry Dance" or James performing "The Letter" (I'm sure you all have your own favorites, those are just some of my own).

Can anyone PM me some details of whats the best way of getting the "Day tickets"? What time it's best to arrive in order to make sure you can get some? That sort of thing. Living a long way from London, I normally buy my tickets in advance to make sure I can get in, but that seems to be getting harder and harder now.

Any information would be much appreciated. :)

I hope the cast recording comes out soon.....first it was set to the end of the summer, and now its suposed to be the autumn...argh! One Billy does have a stronger voice, but I actually prefer Liam's voice as it is more gentle, sweet and innocent...anyone else?
I agree a DVD or some sort of box set would be great but do they normally bring out DVDs of the actual performance on stage? Because otherwise no one will bother going to see it?
Unless they put 3 or 4 clips of different scenes on the CD or a short DVD to show some of the best songs/dances possibly.

I agree_clairey_. Liam´s singing has come on leaps and bounds since he started. He was weak at first but now he holds a very nice tune.

I agree,Alan Roger. It surprised me how tall he had grown since I last saw him in June.
I went back this Wednesday and saw Liam for the second time.(My fourth time seeing the show.) His singing is so much better than it was in June, and his performance during the angry dance is very different from then.
I know it's unlikely but I really hope they release three cast recordings.

I agree he has improved and changed so much. He gets so much more into character now in the angry dance.
We would all love 3 cast recordings!!!

Hi i had to join firstly to say how interesting this thread is, everyone is so knowledgeable about the show.

However i mainly wanted to express how much i enjoyed Billy Elliot the Musical. I saw it last night, with i think James as Billy (missed anywhere it may have said this in the theatre, but from looking at pictures i think it was him!), he put on an amazing performance and really captured the attention of the audience. I see from reading here that he is soon to be leaving the cast. Presumably this is because of his age and size, I must admit I did not realise that Billy was only supposed to be 11!
I enjoyed all aspects of the dancing especially the modern components in Electricity and the beautiful ballet sequence with Isaac James.
I have not seen a musical in a few years but this was a great experience and the talent of the young actors left me amazed (and feeling slightly inadequate!!). I shall definitely be recommending Billy Elliot to others.

Great post West End Fan 2. I completely agree. Fingers crossed that the right people read these messages.

In terms of the Billy's, Michael's and Debbies that don't get onto the final cast recording, what you all bring to the show is outstanding, just keep it up :o)

I fully endorse the sentiments of the last 2 posts.
If indeed the decision is made to use one Billy, Michael, etc I hope that as much as can be done will be done to redress the balance and achieve a sense of fair coverage for all performers in the promotional blurb that will inevitable accompany any CD.

#471Tickets for the 17th September
Posted: 9/4/05 at 9:19am

Well, I can't believe how lucky I've been. I was checking out tickets for October and put in September by mistake and found a ticket on sale for 17th September Evening showing, that I've now bought. I did notice however by going in again that they still have at least one left (actually, I think it probably is only one as they had two listed the first time I went in). It's not a great seat.. Stalls T37 but anyone still trying to get a ticket should try out www.londontheatredirect.com.

Good luck!!

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the site having just registered today and like yourselves i'm a hugh Billy Elliot fan.
I managed to see all 8 performances last week and had a great time and met some wonderful people, from the friendly Victoria staff to fellow fans in the queue-indeed everday was something different! Hello to anyone i spoke too, especially Electricity and West End Fan 2 from this board.
I've now been lucky enough to see the show 13 times (mmm thats unlucky ain't it,have to go back and watch it again then!!!) seeing James 5 times and Liam and George 4 times each and can honestly say EVERY time has been wonderful and just as good as the last.
The boys are very friendly even when someone turns up every day for a week-scary!! I know at least 1 of the boys looks at this board so cheers for a great week chaps, can't wait to come back. It was especially nice to see James on the Sat night as i will now be out of the country for a few weeks so will miss his final shows, really gutted about missing the 17th-all those lucky enough to be going enjoy yourselves.
Please check out my site for Billy Elliot fans on http://www.billyelliot-themusical.com
As i said i'm away for a few weeks but will get it up and running when i get back so if you have ANYTHING you would like to put on the site or would like to see there please e.mail me.
Through reading through these threads i've noticed there is also another fan site starting so if your reading this i will get in touch when i return and we can hopefully work together to get the word out about this great show.
So once again hello to everyone and i'm looking forward to being an active member on the board.
Cheers,
Steve

Regards the cast album i am in TOTAL agreement with WestEndFan2 it would be an absolute tragedy not to have some permanment record from all 3 original Billys. I suppose they could record 3 shows and mix each of the boys but as they sound so different it's hard to see how it could work. The only real answer is 3 cast albums, this is a unique show and there as never been anything like it before so why not try something different and release all 3?
Also i would like to see all 3 have their shows videod, even if it's years before we get any sort of releaese it would be a shame if the originals were just allowed to fade away.
On a personal note if i had to pick a favorite Billy it would be Liam but that in no way distracts from James and George who are both INCREDIBLE. As a Michael my favorite would probably be Ashley though only just as Ryan and Brad are also excellent(in fact as i type i'm thinking maybe it's Ryan after all!!-thats how good they all are). And at the risk of repeating myself with the Debbies the same applies there but if pushed i would go for Emma. Well lifes all opinions and it would be boring if we all thought the same way!
We WANT 3 cast albums, come on someone please listen.

wow 8 times in one week...that is dedicated...thanks for giving us the link to your site its always good to have something new too look at about something your interested in.

And my thoughts on the casting

I would love there to be three differnt recordings released but somehow dont see that hapening so i therefore think it is only fair that James gets to have his voice on the recording as George got all the posters and Liam got the electricty video whereas so far apart from 'Strictly Dance Fever' James has not had much publicity. And plus i do find his voice truely amazing and the strongest of all three. But that is just my opinon and its not my choice of what happens but that is what i hope for

And 'WestEndFan2' i compeltly agree how many versions of Peachtree Road do we need i havnt bothred to perchase one yet just incase antother version with extra songs pops up on our shelves

P.S: Sorry if there is a few spelling mistakes i have been away for a few days so i am a bit rusty on the old keyboard Updated On: 9/4/05 at 06:18 PM

Yes i agree James is due a spot in the limelight,Liam also got the opening night as well as Electricity. I will be happy with whoever we get but at the same time disappointed for the other 2.
Yes 8 shows in a week was an interesting experience! I worked out i spent 22 hours queuing for the tickets over the week!! Tell you what though i have missed the show tonight,it's strange but it's feels odd NOT watching the show!
