i don't know whether anyone knows this but if you do o wel. I just thought that i would say that out of the 3 billys George has been asked to stay on til December and renewed his contract! Hes a very lucky boy! If you all did no sorry for repeating it, if not you have found out something new!! GMFan!! xx
I am new to this board and i found it when i was searching billy elliot the musical.I have came to say that i was in the london final between me and lucy stephenson to play the part of debbie. It was really strange because i was at my stage school academy of performing(same school that emma and brooke go to,but i dont know them, because I am in the saturday class and they are in the sunday)and i thought it was just going to be a normal day at sage academy. Then lucy sage asked me and my friend how old we were(we were 12 at the time)and told us that we had to go into studio 2 and thats were jessica and julian were. And they told us that they were searching for another girl to play the part of debbie. And then we went through the audition process and then were told if we were through to the next step.Me and my friend got through that one,and by the end of the day they had to pick three girls out of about 10 to go through the next big step.At the end of sage academy Lucy sage told me,my friend and another girl to stay behind.i knew why,and i was sooo excited! The next day on the sunday we had to go back to sage and audition with other girls from all over the north east and there was about 20 to start off with and we were told who got to the next step.Unfortunatly my friend didnt get through. And then jessica told us she would ring us to tell us who got through and who didnt. And two girls outof that audition had to be picked. It was in december and i had a really bad day at school, angry at my friends and upset.Just when me and my mum were talking about it we got a phone call from jessica and some very very good news!me and another girl that i met had got through!!I was told to take a day off school(BRILLIANT!)to come down to the London finals,to meet one of the billys, stephen daldry, lee hall, and the creative team!Jessica then post the script i had to learn, the scene when debbie says'if you want i'll show you me fanny'!!it was great going down to london for the first time, and doing the script with one of the billys!I went to the NationAL Youth Theatre and worked with george!!I was ment ot be working with liam, but he couldnt make it After working with george on the script,i had to go into another big room and sing 'happy birthday billy' all by myself in front of the camera(scary)Then do a song from the musical. At the end of the audition Jessica said she would let us know if me or the other girl got through.About a week and a half later,we got the phone call, saying a had got through to the very last audition!!!!And again i missed another day of school(yeeyyy!!)It was really funny, because on the train back down to london,Lucy was sitting right behind us,and didnt even know it was her!But me mam said'i am pretty sure the girl behind us is auditioning with you.'And when we got off at kings cross lucy mam came up to us and said 'are you going to the audition for debbie?'hehe,Lucy's mam had the same thought as my mam.So then me and lucy started chatting about billy elliot and the auditions we had done, and we all got a cab together. We were all an hour early,so jessica told us about this christmas market. We had a really great time,we were talking about school and that, and me mam and lucy's mam was getting on great aswell. When we went back to the audition we were thier to help audition and audition at the same time.We were there to help audition the boys for the part of the posh boy and it went on for hours! Then we had help audition the next lot of boys(are blessss they were soo cute, only 7 and 8 years old!)for the part of the small boy.We had to help them with there lines and do bits of drama with the people for the posh boys.we were there for a total of 7 hours!Flipping tiring like! Me and lucy kept whinging about missing The X Factor finAL hehe.At the end of the day we were told that one of us would be dissapointed and that, but we had tried really hard and done brilliantly. We sat next to each other on the train, talking about our day and will miss your friends and family, stuff like that.At newcastle trAIn station we we got each others mobile numbers, gave each other hugs and said our goodbyes and goodlucks. So we all became really good friends on the day. Then a week later we got the call.I could tell by my mams voice i hadn't got it,because everytime she heard the good news she was bubbly and laughing on the phone.Me dad knew it aswell and shoke his head and held out his arms for a hug,i kind of just fell into them and burst into tears careful not to cry to loud just in case jessica heard in the background on the phone.I was absoultly devesated. But Lucy also deserved to get the part.I couldnt face going back to school the next day.SOme of my friends felt sorry for me,and some didnt care a less. But i am still proud for getting that far even though i didnt get the part. But a month or so ago Jessica came back to sage academy to see if she wanted me to audition again for the second casting. She watched me doing a drama performance in my class, and then lucy told me and some other girls that We were asked to audition again!!i was over the mooooooooonnn!!!!Me family were aswell!i practised so hard again.then on the saturday i done the audition with girls from around the north east, and we done the scene when debbie is in the Changing rooms asking if billy was nervous for the audition.i tried my very very very best because i didnt want to be let down again. And then 2 weeks later a got a letter...not a very good one either:'( I was told that i was now to old(am 13 now)and by the time they would need me i would be to old for the role of debbie.I was sooooooo GUTTED...AGAIN.I Cried and cried that i cried myself to sleep,i fell asleep on the friday as soon as got home from school and heard the news and i didnt wake up till Half past 2 in the afernoon on the saturday!!But they still want to keep in contact with me!! But on the whole experience was BRILLIANT!!!!
Hi BillyFan, I think that the word you are looking for is cush? " You look cush in a tutu" i think thats right. Sorry, but thats all i can help you with GMFan!! xx
Well I've just got back today from, dare I say it, but another musical in the West End and am now just catching up on everyone's gossip!
Last night when I came to see Billy Elliot, it was fantastic...
It was also the first time that I got to see the back flip which George does in Electricity - WOW.
I have now seen George on the last few occassions; the more I see him the more outstanding he gets.
I did go to the stage door afterwards but it was jammed packed with people wanting photos and autographs with the cast - So it looks like I will have to go back on another occassion to get some more done!
If Liam, James and George does read this thread I just want to let them know that even if the show gets tiring for you all, it is much appreciated when you hear the fab comments people make about this show - just keep up the brilliant work you're all doing guys!
Both WestEndFan 2 and I meet at the theatre yesterday and was re-living all our experiences together.
In terms of Liams contract, he and George are staying onp until December and I think they are replacing the ballet girls.
Starry Chaz - Thanks for sharing your experience with us all on the board.
Do you mean the run up the wall? James does this at the end of Electricity. George has also started doing it too. They both do back flips in it as well.
I was just wandering about some problems. I was just lazy to check my programme, but as there are so many girls and 3 boys and they are like the only ones who actually dance in the show, is like one of the girls the dance captain or is one of the ensemble the dance captain? And do they have like understudy rehersals? Just wandering... :P thanks!

WestEndPro...I am amazed at the amount of information you know about Billy Elliot: The Musical. Are you anything to do with the company or are you a parent of one of the children (or something like that)? Updated On: 8/29/05 at 05:34 PM
this is my first post. going to see billy soon! can anybody tell me how long it takes from the end of the show till the cast to come out of the stage door? thanks
The cast come out really quickly, so if you want an autograph be quick! The cast are really quite good a giving autographs and saying hello. You might get a picture too if you have your camera!
Welcome winsax. As JL fan says, you can usually see the Billy,Back up Billy and their Michaels within 10-15 minutes of final curtain. Sometimes there is a bit of a scrum around the stage door if parents, family friends, and chaperons are present along with fans. I have found all the Billys very accomodating about autographs and photos as long as you are patient and polite.Liam, George, and James are very good at PR especially as they are usually exhausted after the show and they richly deserve all the praise going. Older cast members often drink at the ´stage door´ pub across the road and I have found them also prepared to sign and chat briefly. Enjoy the show when you come and good luck meeting the Billy´s afterwards.
