"I believe this was the MOST Cultural show since AIDA."
The most cultural show? I'm so intrigued by this statement...
how do you measure when shows are cultural?
I'd be careful with those choice of words.

Is there a listing anywhere of all the cities it will play? Can someone post it? I'd love to see if it's coming to Philadelphia.

Well, someone's making me go on a Wednesday when I have class! I will do my best though, Clearwater seems to be far from Gainesville. This show better be the best thing since Gypsy, Mr.muscle!

Aida wasn't that cultural. Other than some Egyptian/Nubian stuff in the dialogue, there wasn't much of it elsewhere in the show, specifically the score, sets and costumes, which barely hinted at the culture, if at all. Bombay Dreams included MUCH more culture in one number than Aida did in the entire show.

I saw Bombay when it was in NYC and I was pleasantly surprised of how much I enjoyed it. The music is different but that's what makes the show so unique!

I am surprised that there are only two performances in Tucson.
I hope to see it there.

I enjoyed the show when I saw it in New York. I caught a Wednesday matinee like the week after it opened. I was never bored. The soap opera schmaltz got a bit grating near the end. And the whole death thing was more comical than not. But all in all, there were worse afternoons spent at the theatre. I don't know if it's coming anywhere near me, but I won't be seeing it again.

I won't be seeing it on tour because I live just outside of NYC. However, I will encourage people to go see it- if they know what they're getting.
If you know anything about Bollywood you will enjoy the show to some extent. The music, costuming and choreography are incredible. Those are what brought me in, to be honest. I saw the original London cast back in 02 when I was living there. If you're expecting a multi-layered story with depth, forget it. If you want to be entertained with a good show, yes.
This show plays on Bollywood films... it's a perfect satire/combination of every stereotype of that genre.
It's worth checking out.

I have tickets for it for sometime next year when it hits CA because it's a part of my season too. It should be interesting, although I'll reserve judgement until I actually see it. :)

awesome Rosalynn!!! i wish a lot of people would be like you and just talk about the shows they actually have seen...i don't wanna tell you that you are going to love it or anything...because then after all the talking you might find the show "not so great" just go with an open mind and enjoy!!! it's a fun show. Not the best story....not RENT or Kiss of the Spider Woman...but it has amazing musical numbers. Let me know what you think about the Tour, because it will start in CA.

muscle23ftl- LOL! Well I end up having a lot of opinions about shows because I've seen a lot. I tend to take other's opinions and critics with a grain of salt because I like to be my own critic. Yes, it is good to go into shows with an untainted and open mind. I mean everyone's going to have a different view on shows because it personally affects or relates to them in different ways. Right?
