i heard Baayork Lee likes to change a lot...but she can't really change the whole show...i hope she doesn't mess too much witht he choreography...because i think it was the best thing of the show. But i think she can change things to a certain extent. Anyhow...i have tix to see Liza(row 12), Wicked (great seats for a sold out performance), i am seeing Joseph next week...and i Bombay Dreams is the show that brings me more excitement!!! i got my tix to see it in April at the Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater FL. Can't wait.

tnks for the info...i have been checking that for awhile...and it had only 2 dates...guys don't miss the show!!! and if you have something negative to say...don't post it!!! and the ones that have...you can suck it!!! and it's always helpful to see a show before critizicing. And for the record...i had no interest in seeing the show...until i saw it because i couldn't get tix for Wicked. And what a wonderful surprise.

Just Added: Broadway's Bombay Dreams brings spectacular Bollywood excitement to Centennial Hall
TUCSON – For the first time at Centennial Hall, a brand new Broadway show is coming to Tucson before anywhere else. Bombay Dreams has chosen Tucson to host the touring premiere of this exciting new musical spectacle. This amazing show will be preparing and setting up before hitting the road in our illustrious theatre creating an even more monumental event. This is a limited engagement slated to play 2 performances, that's it. Don't miss your chance to be one of the first to experience a truly unique night at the theatre.
With the self penned hits Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Cats and The Phantom of the Opera, Andrew Lloyd Webber has for over 30 years conquered the world with his popular and ground-breaking approach to musical entertainment. Now, as producer of Bombay Dreams, with music by phenomenal Indian composer A R Rahman, he rewrites the history books once more.
Set amid India's bustling film industry, where numerous big-budget musicals are made each year, this triumphant new musical tells the story of a handsome young man who dreams of finding stardom and romance in a rich and exotic new land.
A feast for the sense, Bombay Dreams combines the glamour of the movies, heart-aching romance and epic spectacle. Akaash, a young slum dweller, dreams of becoming a huge movie star, and his fateful encounter with beautiful Priya, the daughter of one of Bollywood's greatest film directors. Can he achieve his dream of stardom or will this come at a price? Will Akaash and Priya's love survive? And will they find, like in all the best Bollywood movies, their happy ending?
One of the most dazzling musicals Broadway has ever seen, Bombay Dreams is a thrilling spectacle that families and students will enjoy as much as adults. With its lush score, the score explores such powerful themes as the challenge of success, the importance of one's cultural heritage and familiar roots, and the nature of friendship and true love. Featuring the same explosive scenes that were scene on Broadway, including the famed WATER FOUNTAIN dance.
The entire week leading up to this extraordinary show will showcase the creative process behind how a major Broadway musical comes to fruition. Stay tuned for more updates regarding this fascinating development.

Cudnt believe how I have never read this thread be4. Anyways, I saw the show in Ldn before it closed, all because it was closing. I didnt expect much because my friends who saw it was like ew, yuck, get it away from me.... but it was a pleasant surprise for me! I cudn;t believe how much energy there was in the show! And some bits were just amazingly beautiful! The choreography just took me away! The book is weak yeah, but it's still better than Mamma Mia! And I think this is a thoroughly enjoyable show! I think the composer should have gotten more recognition for his music.... but hopefully he will after LOTR is out! And btw, I got an email last yr from RUG regardin what shows will be tourin to HK and I THINK Bombay Dreams were one of them!!!!

you know...i went to see it just because it was closing and also because i couldn't get tix for Wicked and decided not to wait for the lottery in the cold winter or wait for the cancellation line...(which is a waste of time...knowing that there are so many amazing shows on Bway and Off Bway) and saw this show i didn't even wanna see. And the same thing happened to me. I am glad i'm not the only one. It was a great surprise and it was the 1st ALW that i LOVED!

The only reason I saw the show too, muscle, was that we (my mom and I went to NYC for a week) had an extra time slot free to choose another show and we had seen Bombay Dreams perform a few songs in Bryant Park and we thought "Shakalakah Baby" was a really fun song. Anyway, we went to the theatre and saw clips of the show and knew we had to see it. Ofcourse it wasn't doing well, so we got great orchestra seats. I fell in love with the show. Sure it's not good enough for Tony's but I love it. I think it's still much better than the London version just listening to the CD. I think the CD kind of ruins people wanting to see it because there are a few songs that are really stupid like "don't release me", etc. It was kinda bizare. Man, when is the cast list and website coming out? Argh, I can't stand the wait!

i know...i can't believe that the show will make it's 1st performance in about a month and still not a cast announcement... i doubt they are going to have big celebrities in it. There were rumours about Tamyra Gray doing the tour. And even tho she didn't increase tickets sales on Broadway...i think people would really want to see her on tour. But i doubt it will happen. Tnks for sharing TLK.

I wish they had an OBC - I'm not excited about getting the OLC and it being entirely different. Can't wait to see the tour though. Very excited about that.
i wish they had an OBC too...but i wish Tamyra Gray sang in it...not the original Pryia (that kinda sux!!!) it is so funny i have mezzanine tix for Wicked (which has been sold out for months) and still i am way more excited about seeing Bombay Dreams...Wicked will be around for a long long time...BD...i don't think so...so it's a once in a lifetime kinda thing, you missed it and it's gone!!! i also can't understand when people go to Broadway and they see these shows that have been around for 10 years and probably will be around for 10 more...what's the point if they will run for years and years???...i always want to see shows that are not going to be on Broadway forever.

that sux love4cheno...i had really high hopes about seeing u onstage...besides the show has an ensemble of like 50 people...so many chances u get a role in it. Well...it's a crappy business...i don't have the guts to be a performer...or....the TALENT!

I love this show. I saw it in the Uk with the orginal cast. I know it was rejigged for the U.S debut but the essence of the piece remained. I love how vibrant it was- it was like a breath of fresh air when it opened here. I hope it also tours the UK eventually.
