It seems like ever since the show came back from the pandemic they’ve been actively against replacement casting. Curious if this is a directive from management/the producers or the creatives. I could see it beingMatt and Trey have completely checked out from the show and are not signing off on new auditioners."
Yeah normally with long-running shows (i.e. Wicked, SIX, Hamilton, etc.) they do change the leads every 1-2 years.
Is it harder to find actors who can do the role of Elder Price and Elder Cunningham? I would think every year there's a new batch of actors moving to NYC who could audition for those roles (or other brother roles since they'd be in their 20s.)

Cody was recently on a hiatus for 2 months. When he was first in the show and the when the show reopened after covid, he was good. But he's been with the show for awhile and his Cunningham is very full and stale.

Has anyone been there recently? How is it

I didn't see it mentioned here, but Cody announced he's leaving on October 26th.
I have seen Kevin and Cody several times and they are great, but I haven't been back since reopening simply because I've been waiting for some new blood.
I've been debating about going back before Cody leaves or waiting to see who is replacing him.
I saw it last week with a lotto win and my partner has never seen it. It is tiiiiiiiiiired and showing its age. The understudy for Cunningham was the best thing about it. I saw happy Cody was out, I saw him in 2016!!
Cody has been with Mormon since he joined the tour in 2013(?). His Cunningham isn't funny anymore and I'm happy to hear he's moving on. Last time I saw it, Cody looked bored and trying to improvise certain things. Like most long running shows, a lot of the cast has been there a while.
FYI, Kevin Clay is on vacation next week.

Has anyone seen Keziah? She's been with the show for over a decade but I don't think has ever been a full time Nabalungi prior to now-but I might be wrong. Happy for her!

I thought she was terrible.
Book of Mormon needed new life heading into 2020. The COVID pause did that. BOM was one of the first shows I saw when Broadway reopened and it was electric. Saw it again last year, and it's not in good shape. Weekends have a ton of understudies and swings on, majority of the cast is milking it for a paycheck and the leads have been there for 10+ years. Matt & Trey need to step in and get some fresh faces or close the show.

Yea the box office isn’t all that hot either. They have new marketing for the show with fire. A new cast needs to come in to bring new life into the show. I’m sure they’ll be doing a lot for the 15th anniversary.

Was always led to believe that understudies/swings were supposed to be able to deliver a quality performance. You would think on weekends they would be excited to actually perform. I understand it is a paycheck, but I would think if I was in show for 10 years I would want to move on and do something different. I would hope all shows have people that care and check in on the shape of a show, especially long running ones. There are plenty of actors who would die to be in an award-winning show, so it upsets me that there are many in the show milking it for a paycheck. People pay big money for this show so giving it your best effort would be nice -lol.
Chicago is the same way as was Les Mis, Phantom or any long running show. Certain actors stay there for the paycheck and job stability. I understand they need to stay just for getting the paycheck, but when you're checked out, it's time to move on. Do a tour, book a regional theater, teach. Most people that aren't satisfied with their day job try to move on to something else.
