This summer! He's going to be incredible!
This is the most random news EVER, but the more I think about it, he'll be pretty great.

Yeah this is random but I love it!

He has a hell of a voice, I'm so jealous of everyone who will get to see him
Brendon Urie in Kinky Boots....??!!?!?
He may not be able to act, but that guy has a set of pipes that can only be described as a gift from God....or Satan in his case.
I know this is stunt casting, but if this goes well I hope he sticks around to originate a role in a rock opera!
There is no way I am going to miss this, and its not just because he was my inner emo hero in middle school.
A random bit of casting especially for a thankless role like this.
One of my favorite contemporary vocalists, his talent is outrageous.

Can he act? This is so random
Who is he playing? Charlie?
He's got a great voice but he's known as being hard to work with (which is why he's basically the only memeber of his band anymore... ironically, his band's only hit album was before everyone else left his band). This doesn't seem to to be the right role, especially as a replacement in a long running show, to make his Broadway debut in. They must really be hurting in those advance sells and he must be looking for a little cash...
Random but he has a very good voice and a loyal fanbase so I think this is a good move for Kinky Boots.
Charlie may be a vanilla role, but he arguably has the best songs in the score, with Step One, Charlie's Soliloquy, and Soul of a Man. All of which require powerhouse vocals.

This will be amazeballs.

Urie's "Soul of a Man" will be pretty killer.

Well actually one guy left for substance abuse and the other 2 left because they wanted a different sound. And now that he's alone, the current album is the only album to hit #1 on the charts and be nominated for a Grammy. So I say he's doing pretty well on his own.
I am very excited for this, getting tickets as soon as I'm home from work

I agree. I cannot wait to hear the licks he'll do with Soul of a Man. As soon as he's comfortable enough, you just know he's going to wail!
I LOVE their new album and it has a lot of "Broadway" in it. "Death of a Bachelor" and the closing track are very Broadway - standard sounding with their own flavor. I'm excited to return to Kinky to see him!

This, plus he's also had a full, consistent band behind him on tour since their album in 2013.

While it's not the same, he does act in all his music videos and in the video interludes for his most recent tour.
His song writing skills are some of the best of Today. I really wish he would write his own musical. He's so theatrical it would be incredible. I know he wrote a son for the Spongebob Musical. Hopefully this encourages him to get more involved with Broadway. He's always said he loved it.
I never had interest in Kinky Boots until now. I can't wait to see him!
Though, I'm sure the stage door will be insane, like when Darren Criss was in Hedwig.
