avenue q is more than a novelty, if there is any justice it will win best musical this year. it is hillarious and original and there should be no ban on it whatsoever.
Oh, yes. Jerry Springer the opera. I bought the CD thinking that a musical could be about dancing cockroaches and still be good writing, and a lot of people were saying it was genious, but I found it awful. Just awful....
CATS, OKLAHOMA!, PORGY AND BESS.
I love Jerry Springer The Opera. A fascinating and original idea with a gorgeous score. Actually, there is quite a bit of good writing. I can't wait to see it.
For me, there weren't enough actual songs. A lot of the track titles that I thought would be really funny songs were just 30 second dialogue things. Sure, "This is my Jerry Springer Moment" was beautiful and I had to laugh at "Momma Gimme Smack on the Ass Hole" but for an opera it seemed a little slim in the memorable song department. And I loathed all the "Jerry, Jerry" chorus things. I would have preferred the chanting "Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!" like on the show....

Got to be a toss-up between Titanic and Phantom of the Opera.
Grease. That's a show I wouldn't mind never having to see again, it's so over done by everyone everywhere.

It is amazing how many different tastes we all have.
Some detest CATS, others what some call classics like THE MUSIC MAN.
I would have to say that any show that has had more then three revivals should not be allowed to run on Broadway again for a certain amount amount of years.
Like Fiddler, Gypsy, WSS, Guys and Dolls.....
Think of what we could do with some of the newer shows that should get a shot again....
Grand Hotel is one that comes to mind. I bet Roundabout could do an amazing version at Studio 54.
Really? Beauty and the Beast? I loved Beauty and the Beast when I first saw it at the Palace, but once they moved it and toned it down so it wasn't so elaborate I felt like I was just watching a longer version of a Theme Park show. Some of the music written for the stage version is good though.

Les Miserable and Phantom of the Opera. Both great shows, but please...go away and stay away!

Um.... Les Mis is already gone... and I think the odds of it being revived (if at all) in the time when any of us would see it are slim to none
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
JOSEPH AND THE AMAZINGLY LONG TITLE.

HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING has a longer title than JOSEPH...

How about A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To the Forum?
(Not that I want it to be banned. It just has a really long title.)
CATS. Definitely CATS. That was the most horrid 3 hours of my life, with the exception (MAYBE) of the SATs.

The Weisslers aren't totally evil. They produced Falsettos. :) Updated On: 5/18/04 at 04:21 PM
Not that I have seen it, so you can correct me if I am wrong, but something about making a huge tragedy into a musical strikes me as odd... I am of course talking about Titanic. I'm not saying to ban it, just making a random comment...
Hmm I wonder what my answer would be LoL.... Cats Maybe?

Musicals don't need to be happy. Sweeney Todd, anyone? Or how about the uplifting Assassins? (Which I'm listening to right now. Ah, the Gun Song.)
