Anyone noticing a ton spring discounts being offered? Advance sales must be hurting. Spring is usually where the highest sales and attendance numbers are made and discounts are usually in short supply..

When the inventory is this lousy, everything must go.
That and tourism is hurting in this economy. The city is just less crowded generally than it usually is this time of year, IMO.

Airfares are really high. I cancelled my planned trip back there in early June.

Airlines adjusting fares in response to dramatically rising fuel costs is considered gouging?

Yes.
And even if it wasn't airlines have become professional gougers and don't deserve any understanding.

Fuel surcharges that don't get removed when fuel prices drop again definitely is gouging.
Higher airfares increasingly are a by-product of pricing algorithms. Airlines are getting much more proficient and maximizing plane size, flight frequency, and ticket prices, et al to maximize their profits.
I fly a lot and getting decent fares takes much more work than it used to.

It's not just the fares, but it is also the outrageous bag check fees. And you have to, on most airlines it seems, fly above Basic Economy to take a carry on bag and choose your seats.
I flew into Philly last October and it was ridiculous. People were finding ways to get around checking bags. Me and a guy in our boarding group were just shaking our heads at what people were getting onto the plane. The gate attendant flagged very few bags. (WAY less than she should have). By the time we boarded, we had to carry our bags to the back of the plane, get a bag check slip and walk our bags back to the front to be loaded into the baggage area below. It was only the second time in 30 years I had to do that. The first time was understandable but this time was ridiculous. When I got to baggage claim in Philly, there were only like 30 people waiting for bags. I kid you not!
Imagine what it now costs for a family to fly to New York for a week.

Between Roundabout's subscriber base and the general demand for the cast and show, Rocky Horror is one of the few shows right now that doesn't really need discounts to help move tickets.

Lest we forget: The government bailed out the airlines during Covid so they'd keep prices affordable for the consumer. They didn't. These prices, much like grocery prices, are not going to go down.

Hotel rates still seem HIGH. I was thinking of popping into town (driving distance), but its high right now.
