I'm really curious as to why Wicked is down again. I mean, 93% is incredibly high, but that's not like Wicked. Usually when they have a downish week the next week is back up near 100%.
Shrek is kind of shocking, too. :|
Yikes.
And I think WICKED might be done selling out for a while.
Hello RECESSION?? Wicked is good to be making 93.8% in a normally slow time of the year regardless.
'13' is soon going to be about the attendance level that show is getting.

Would someone PLEASE just close "13" already? What are they expecting? Word of mouth? Take a hint, producers! Attendance in the 40-50% range every week is NOT OKAY!

Wow...MERMAID below $700,000 and POPPINS below $600,000. Isn't Mermaid still in its first year? And why is 13 still trying to run?
I think "13" is trying to pull a "Passing Strange." They're holding out for people to realize how "genius" it is.
well, i think 13 is waiting for the holidays.. and i think it will DEF close in january

Hey LePetiteFromage, you can check out Variety.com for those grosses. I've been checking it quite often, actually.

SoFarAway, they appear to be Road grosses. Where are the Off & Off Broadway grosses?

I apologize, I thought that was what you were meaning. I read that wrong when you said "off Broadway." :[ I searched back through and I don't see anything. Sorry about that.

The 13 scenario is worse when you consider that it's seating approximately 43% of theater capacity, AND average ticket price is $57.86 when an non-discounted orchestra seat is listed at $111.50. I don't know what the average non-discounted price is when you consider the less expensive seats ($76.50), but it seems that 13 is taking in a lot less than 43% of potential box office.
Close this show! It's bad. You are throwing away good money after bad. And, for what? 13 is boring (the worse possible sin a Broadway musical can be).
I'm completely shocked by the SHREK numbers...
Tough week. I'm surprised about Shrek.
SHREK has a HUGE house to fill!
Give them time.

Ugly week. Hope things start to pick up soon, not just in theater, but for the economy in general.
Ugly.

For Billy Elliot, does its opening night figure into the its percentage being under 80%?

Yes, usually the week of opening night the figures are considerably lower as they don't factor in all the comped tickets in the numbers. I expect a drastic increase in this week's numbers given the Times review and the good word of mouth.
I honestly thought that EQUUS would do much much much better !!! A great play, starring one great actor and another, younger one who, besides being very talented is also a huge star worldwide, plus good reviews and excellent word of mouth but...What went wrong ???

I'm fairly new to this web site but I have been reading some of the threads. I see in the weekly grosses that Jersey Boys is doing very well but I don't hear many people commenting on it.
What's the draw? Seems that the show is usually sold out. Thanks to anyone who can give me an opinion on that.
It'll be interesting see how many West Side Story tickets they sell at $300 a pop all the way back to row P.
