It took a 2 second google search. I knew I would find many articles because I have seen so many of them over the last 18 months and it has also been mentioned frequently on MSNBC shows that I watch.
The fact I was able to do so proves that I didn't just make it up or pull it out of my butt, so I am not going to 'admit I was wrong', as I was passing on information I had read and heard for quite a while. I also know a number of people who feel theway I mentioned, so have heard it in a lot of conversations.
I will however apologise for being snarky and flippant to certain members, as it was not called for and I and those I did it too are better than that.
Iwill also plead guilty to merely headline gazing and not reading the full articles as clearly in a lot of cases when you actually dig deeper into the subject, the headlines are not entirely accurate to what is written below.
So I will freely admit I was wrong (which I have absolutely no problem doing EVER) in the fact that I misquoted articles based on the headlines, but my perception was not wrong based on the information I had seenand heard many times over the last 18 months.
As far the Potter info I had.I happened to be sitting beside someone who worked for one of the producers at a show earlier this year who gave me the information I quoted. I too thought costs would be much higher and he corrected me. Now London has been running much longer and have things down pat by now and of course is in a different country so costs are different. But the price was just under 400,00 pounds a week, which is around 650,00 - 700,000 U.S. The rest of the info I gave is pretty much straight from his mouth. Now he may have been lying and was indeed a sheep farmer from New Zealand, but he seemed pretty legit and knew what he was talking about. So once again, I was just the messenger...
As far as caring goes...I care greatly about art on Broadway doing poorly, however the US tourism industry is of little interest to me beyond headline gazing on websites or listening to a news story that happens to be on. I was engaging in a discussion on a discussion forum and imparted information. I cared about joining indiscussions, I find discussions interesting.The fact they no longer happens here without hysteria and triggering almost beyond human comprehension is something I do care about. To quote Taylor Swift, You Need to Calm Down.
This place used to be fun, you could have a laugh, be silly. Now it is an unwelcoming place full of nasty trolls who seem to do little more than spend the day hunting down theirnext victim and then toying with them until they lose the willto fight back and you get your win.

I don’t think anyone is looking to “win” nor did we expect or need this long of an apology. But when you’re presenting information that’s not accurate it’s going to be called out, as it was. I think that’s always been the case here as far back as 8 years ago or so when I started on here. Can’t present your argument as factual when it’s not. I apologize if I came off too snarky, but I do find it interesting when people can’t handle pushback on their arguments. Again, I apologize if I was too harsh.
Agree with Magic just ignore the annoying posters, including me if you feel necessary. I don’t disagree in general it’s more nasty around here than ever. In the off topic thread, someone posted what a shame it was someone resigned over sexual assault, and one poster responded “A shame they DID it or that they resigned?” Like, really? We’re better than that here. I think pointing out the flaws in your argument is one thing, being snarky and rude and demeaning is another. Again, my apologies.
Moving forward though, if The Inheritance receives raves, I hope their grosses improve. May not be able to catch it until spring so I hope for an extension.
