Usually when a show announces a closing, the grosses go up, which was clearly not the case with QoV. The show couldn't close fast enough. Wow.

Chess not surprisingly took a bigger hit on the Tuesday with Lea's absence than on the Sunday even with the super cheap tickets as easier to sell tickets on a Sunday than a Tuesday but still impressive to take $1.7M even when taking a nearly $300K hit with Lea out compared to 3 weeks previous when they were all in and over $2M.
It will be interesting to see what difference Aaron's absences make this week ( it appears he is out for the matinee at least today) although the other day it was sold out before it was announced he was out but there might have been returns.
It continues to amaze me how much people will pay to see Tom Felton in Potter but nostalgia I guess.
Happy trails to THE QUEEN OF VERSAILLES, ART, and LITTLE BEAR RIDGE ROAD, alongside Ike Barinholtz and Jon Stewart in ALL OUT.
Shaping up to be a fruitful Xmas even with three less shows on the boards.
Once again, I'm tickled for Louis McCartney and Stranger Things: The First Shadow.

Love seeing the grosses/capacity for Gatsby. Pretty impressive considering so many predicted it would close after the 2024 Tonys.
Ragtime's grosses continues to blow me away. 100% soldout since it's first preview.

Two Strangers at 71% capacity is tough. Grosses holding on okay for now though.

Maybe because understudies were on last week, I know the stars aren't big names but that could play a role (especially since the show publicized the absences ahead of time)

Aaron also called out on Sunday, which contributes to their “loss”. But also in this economy, CHESS grossing $1.7 Million when the other shows are crashing and burning like faulty blimps (See: Queen of Versailles), they are absolutely sitting pretty for a big swing revival of a 40-year old legendary flop

and as I pointed out he called out so close to curtain the show was SOLD OUT. there might have been some return of tickets but it wouldn't have been that many in comparison to if he had called out hours out.
and yes, they are doing very well, better than everyone expected.

They couldn't let credit go to her.

IKR? And the average ticket price to achieve what attendance they did have: YIKES.
But yeah, lets blame it on the fans.
