I really liked Harmony. The story and music are compelling. It's even more relevant now, than ever. I hope it's able to hang on a little while longer, but their numbers are dire.

Surprised by Neil Diamond drop.

I assumed this show would be a huge hit with holiday tourists.

I just wonder how long some of these shows are going to hold on. If prime holiday season isn't drawing in an audience I'm not sure the dead of winter will.

My best bet, no insider info just opinion: How To Dance In Ohio announces a late-January/early-February closing next week or the one after. There's no way they'll let this die a slow and painful death just because this was Hal's last project/many producers first. I wish it did better, but with those numbers...

My guess is it's actually more Fiona Rudin (of the enormous real estate company) who is a lead producer that is keeping things afloat? I have to give credit if this is the case, there was a similar rumor about Here Lies Love, if wealthy producers are really standing behind their shows in this way to give them a chance to catch on with audiences.

Hopefully others know details of current productions, but the only one I ever heard about was Alain Boublil getting 1% of the gross worldwide of any production of Les Mis. I can only imagine things would have changed since the 80s, and that someone like Elton John can command a higher percentage (even when making the deal in 1997).

I know I comment on PURLIE every week - I'm actually glad they've managed to stay open and will very likely complete their run. The numbers are perfectly adequate for a production that size and it just broke 100 performances (not counting previews) this past week.

Also, just a reminder that next week, we are going to see wonkier grosses than normal since most shows are doing 9 performances this week - and the disparities will probably be much more glaring."

Unfortunately, it is going to be a big money loser.
