I doubt it. I said it back in December when I saw it in LA that in its current form, the show's Broadway run will be very short if no major changes were made. It wasn't only me but a chorus of negative comments echoed this. It's too bad the show's creative team did not listen.

I don't think there's ever a "right season" to open...it'll either catch on or not. There will always be shows that get more attention/business than others. I'd like to think American Psycho would have done better this season but who knows...Next year I'm sure the family-show flops will blame Harry Potter/Frozen, etc...

Though it has a wonderful star, Amélie is just a bad show. No industrial conditions could save it.

I doubt that Donna Murphy's added Tuesday evening show will boost up the grosses that much more. In fact, it'll lower the average ticket price a bit. Going to 8 shows a week starting in mid-June will likely keep it around the $2 million mark.

I feel like once these shows take off after the Tony Awards, I think "Cats" will be gone by Labor Day. It's not looking real prime for any nominations and seems to continue to exist as a curio...

Yet is profitable every week, not that it even matters. ALW would keep it open as a vanity piece even if it lost him money.

I don't believe ALW is producing this revival of Cats... so it's far from a vanity piece

He's not producing it by himself, but really useful group is one of the producers

That is NOT a good number for them.

Sure, but cfried didn't say it was a good number. They said they are on the right track... meaning the numbers are climbing.

I believe Dolly is only doing 7 shows until after the Tonys in June when Donna Murphy starts her performances on Tuesdays.

These grosses are staggering. I can't remember such a thrilling season with so many hits. Last season was so boring with all the Hamilton hype. This season is an embarrassment of riches. So thrilled.

Last season was the opposite of boring to me, I found it thrilling to watch a new musical have such an incredible impact. This year is interesting too, just in a different way.
