Have American In Paris and Something Rotten! Made their money back? Both have been on over a year now. American seems to be consistent every week where SR has highs and lows.
Will be interesting to see if Brian d'Arcy James is a big pull in his final weeks and if his replacement can keep the momentum. (Any names being mentioned who might replace Christian Borle?)

I see. Would have thought for sentimental reasons it would go to the St James. Especially since it will likely be available and the director has already indicated that the production will totally be honoring the original.

When I was getting rush tickets for SR a couple of weeks ago, I got speaking to someone at the theatre. Amongst other things, I asked him if he knew if the show had a proposed closing date yet? He didn't give much away, but said he'd heard that the theatre is closing for 6 months at some point for a stage refurb, likely the beginning of next year.

Those are NOT big stars. Eclipsed has been naively marketed as if she is, and I think Blackbird is just a tough sell.

They were big tv stars, especially Grammer. I am sure a lot of their fans went to see them. I know a number of people who have been binge watching Frazier.

Sorry to get off topic, but I agree in saying Kelsey Grammer was a big draw for me in Finding Neverland. I thought him and Morrison did a wonderful job, and while I liked the show very much, I really couldn't imagine seeing it though with people who I wasn't quite familiar with in the lead roles.

The context of the post to which I was responding was grosses. The poster was relating the two of them to their (lack of major) grosses on a way that seemed to conflate your distinctions. I of course agree there are people who sell tickets who are not big stars, but I think there are gradations of stars, and one of the lessons of the last few years is that only the top echelon (including the folks mentioned above that you agree are box office draws) translate automatically into ticket sales because of their star power. I don't think everyone who is known by the average joe is a "big star." To me a big star is someone who can't move around without security and who could never, as an example, take the subway to work. A big star, to me, is someone who people will go see for who they are rather than what they do.

Tuck and Psycho are running neck and neck.From what I understand, both will be gone before the end of June, if not sooner.

I don't know I would say that its preposterous.
Hogan, at the end of the day, I don't want to see either close.
Personally, I'm a fan of both shows. I was told notices were very close on both. Simply sharing what I was told.

well, you hear a lot of things in this business and all of them can't be true. It is certainly possible both are closing soon but not because they are neck and neck. Psycho has a path, Tuck doesn't. Does Psycho have the reserves to pursue that path? Dunno.
