Good for SHREK! Whether or not this business will continue into the school-year is questionable but it looks like they're going to have a great summer.
Come on, 9 TO 5. I don't get what is keeping people from making this show a sold-out smash. It's got all the ingredients of a tourist-phenom. And I've yet to hear really bad word of mouth about it. Everyone I've talked to enjoyed themselves quite a lot at the show.

Yay Rock of Ages! Good week for practically everybody.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

Wicked, I don't know that's it's bad word of mouth hurting 9 TO 5 so much as it is a lack of GOOD word of mouth. I know a lot of people, myself included, who thought the show was percfectly...fine. I don't know anyone who loved it. And trust me, as a huge Dolly Parton fan, I wish I was more of a supporter.

blaxx, sure people on BWW hate it but people on BWW also despise WICKED with a burning passion but it still has great word of mouth. Ditto to the reviews; Brantley trashed WICKED as well. The people I've talked to about it who saw it enjoyed themselves. And every time I've left the theater, every single person I saw left with a smile on their face or in a really great mood.
I really wish people (like Sauja did) would attempt to have a DISCUSSION with people about stuff like this instead of rudely commenting on something they say with "Uhh..." How am I supposed to defend my comment if I have no idea what that's supposed to mean...?

I'm kind of surprised to see 9 to 5 dropping as well; however, I am THRILLED to see that Hair is continuing to do so well. It's going to recoup any week now.

9to5 actually went up this week.

I loved 9 TO 5, have seen it four times, and have been recommending it to everyone I know...obviously though, it hasn't been enough. Still its numbers aren't *terrible,* they are just less than most of the other shows.

CBT
The capacity dropped slightly, but 925's numbers have been lower than they were earlier on in the run.

She's working at the TKTS booth too?

I think it's more that '9 to 5' got pretty much ignored at the Tonys and this resulted in very poor buzz, especially compared to sell-outs like 'Billy Elliot' and 'Hair', the shows which everyone are still talking about.
Everything in life...is only for now.

I continue to be wowed at Hair's numbers every week. Week #4 grossing over $1 million. They must be very close to recouping.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Yeah keep in mind that while '9to5' is only selling 74%, it's selling 5000 MORE seats than Next to normal, amongst other things...

The difference between the two shows last week was less than 4000 seats and keep in mind that next to normal probably costs about half as much to run as 9 to 5.

CBT
Keep in mind that Broadway grosses do not subtract the credit card fees and group sales fees anymore.

<< Brantley trashed WICKED as well. >>
Thats a bit of a misconception, that has been discussed on the boards a few times.
He certainly wasnt a big fan of the show, but if you go back and read his review, he liked the performances, and wrote an absolute love letter to KC.
I remember reading his review, and really wanting to see the show. I think, if anything, his review helped sell tickets.
