Hey everyone,
My musical theatre director always has these contests where you can win musicals on CDs, and the question of this week was "Name 3 musicals that were on Broadway that only had a cast of 2 people" I have 2 figured out right now : They're Playing Our Song, and I DO! I DO! So everyone who knows lots about musicals, I need your help!! What are some other ones.
Thanks guys!

I would not call them "musicals on CD" around here...
Doesn't THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG have a small chorus?

The Last Five Years?
The Last 5 Years is the only one I know for sure
ARCHY & MEHITABEL doesn't have a chorus i think.
Was the Last 5 Years on B'way?
Oh, and BT11, Musicals on Cd is fine. It's the "soundtrack" word you have to be scared of!
The Last Five Years was off-broadway at Minetta Lane
Promises, Promises
She said two people, not two word titles.
I am still trying to think of one besides I DO I DO.

Was john & jen on Broadway or off?
Almost said Romance, Romance, forgot about the Him/Her/Lenny/Barb couple.

Dammit Sueleen, I was thinking "Can Can."

Marry Me A Little
Was off Broadway...but still a musical.
They're Playing Our Song has a small chorus of three guys and three girls who act as the voices of the two leads. If this qualifies then Romance, Romance does too. In the first act there are only two characters and as it (the show) is made up of two one act musicals then you could say that it is a Broadway musical. Though an Off Broadway musical, you could also say Pete n Keely. Other than those all I can think of is I Do, I Do.
I Do, I Do
Pete n Keely
They're Playing Our Song
Romance, Romance.

"Bea Arthur on Broadway-Just Between Friends" (Bea & onstage pianist)
"Tell Me On A Sunday" only has one person

But TELL ME ON A SUNDAY had the second part with a whole cast.
It made up SONG AND DANCE

Here they are:
I Do! I Do!
Bea Arthur on Broadway - Just Between Friends
Billy Bishop Goes To War

I'm going to disagree with Bea Arthur's show as that was a one-woman show and Broadway has a long history of solo performances, even with a pianist on stage.
I DO, I DO
BILLY BISHOP GOES TO WAR (5/29/80, at the Morosco)
(I actually saw this, 7 previews & 12 performances!)
And I'm going to add
GOOD EVENING, two-man revue (Peter Cook & Dudley Moore)
Opening 11/14/1973, at the Plymouth
Megan, please inform us of the correct answers, according to your musical theatre director.

I think Bea Arthur counts because she sang songs in the show and the pianist actually had some lines.

Newbie poster here. How about the Fantasticks and The Four Poster (Mary Martin & Robert Preston)??
Just a thought.
(Be gentle. It's my first time.)

I think the proper tem would be "Cast Recordings" or maybe "Cast Albums"

AmaliaFan, the Fantasticks has more than 2 people and it only played Off-Broadway. The Four Poster musical is "I Do! I Do!"
