I'm more or less assuming it's advance for the Winter is next to nothing. I do wonder if Billy Crystal's show might take the Marquis. Otherwise, it might just be something unexpected taking the theater. I doubt it sits empty for too long.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Has anyone on here seen Leslie Kritzer's instagram freestyle video? (If you haven't, Instagram Post).
At the end, she says something about not leaving their theatre. I thought it was hilarious she threw that in there. Though, in the comments someone says "Also love that she’s low key confirming that music mans not going into the winter garden." and she follows up with a reply "we don’t know that. So not confirming anything".
Still wondering if Music Man might switch to the Shubert and if Mockingbird moves to a smaller theater by next Fall. Beetlejuice is still doing well and it's very expensive to switch theaters.

I’d love nothing more than to see Beetlejuice stick it out but we’re talking about almost a full year from now. BJ has a long way to go before next Fall.
i randomly found literature that said the johnny cash musical was in too large a house- it was in the barrymore. how much smaller can the theater be before you stop being able to blame failure on house size? i wish ms doubtfire all the best. but i see it having the same exact trajectory as tootsie at best. i. have. doubts. i will find it truly amusing if the only show that can actually fill the marquis-the music man- doesn't go there simply because of producer ego. i know theres many bigger problems in the world, but as a theater goer i have a lot of issues with the state of ny theatre currently.

BJ has 7-8 months left at the Winter Garden - MM is going there!

So, where is Blue going to play? Id think the Lyceum, but many people seem to think that would be for Sing Street. Is Blue no longer coming in this season? To my knowledge, unless the Barrymore opens up there won't be a theatre for it, and I cannot imagine it plays the Marquis or Neil Simon.

Just browsed its Telecharge seating charts, and those houses look empty starting in January. The current block of tickets is through April, but I wonder if it would shutter before that?
I doubt it will close before April. Beetlejuice is a show where a lot of people will rush or buy last minute. (Not to mention it could start selling quicker closer to the holidays.) The shows for March and end of February are starting to fill up, and the weekend shows for January are starting to sell a bit more too. I'm fairly certain that if they close it, they'll give it a full year run on Broadway and have the last April show be the closing night. Just my thought though.
I see Beetlejuice lasting past their current ticket sale date. I'd expect them to open up for ticket sales through the end of June at least. It should also do well during the summer, but it's all a matter of how badly Rudin wants the Winter Garden. Otherwise, Beetlejuice may get kicked out and forced to move theaters.

I think the fact that it was just announced that they broke the Winter Garden box office records this week will certainly help. And I wouldn't doubt that they extend into the summer, which makes me wonder if the original cast will sign on to stay through the original run if that's the case.
Is anyone else feeling that a lot of the theatres seem pretty well locked in for the next year. Especially the theatres typically used for musicals and I really can’t see many closing (other than set limited runs) in the next eight months except for maybe longacre being open if Diana is short lived. I could see tkam staying open for another year and doing another full cast turn around. And I doubt in the next twelve months we’ll hear anything about the palaces new tenant after renovations.

The new building they're putting the Palace within is projected to be open at some point within 2022. If the theater itself is open before the rest of the building is, it would only be by a few months. The Palace should not be considered for at least a few years.
