Broadway Flash said: "Bring on all the great movie stars. Emma Stone, Rosamund Pike, Carey Mulligan, Sienna Miller, Michelle Williams, I’d love to see Angelina Jolie in the role."
Do you have any clue about this score and its demands?
The only thing that was respected in this production was the reasonably high standard of singing.

I think any of the following could be great in this production!
- Merle Dandridge
- Heather Headley
- Shoshana Bean
- Deborah Cox
- Anika Noni Rose
- Dee Roscioli
- Renée Elise Goldsberry

People said the same thing about Glenn Close when she got cast, replacing Patti Lupone who I guess wasn’t as well received in the show. If Nicole only gave good vocals, this would not be a success. It’s her acting and the entire performance.

This thread has rapidly gone down the rabbit hole into Wonderland.
The only thing I could hope for is the chance it might go into the Hudson instead of the St James because the legroom oin the St James mezzanine is terrible.

I guess we don't care about the age-appropriateness of the actresses mentioned here.

What's the age appropriateness? The ones I listed were 46-53. The character was originally 50. Nicole Scherzinger is 45. Rachel Tucker is 42. They all feel like good fits to me in terms of energy/feel/vibe.

I'm assuming a 12-week run announcement for Nicole is specifically to drive up ticket prices, and then she'll extend another month or two after initial sales/reviews.

Sone of the ones I listed are still in their 30s. I also don’t care about the age. Honestly Nicole looks like she could be 30 anyway and everyone’s buying her performance. That being said, maybe Glenn Close can come into this production id love to see her again.

100% NOT going to happen. Glenn Close is wrong for this particular production of Sunset Boulevard in every way.

Some of the reporting said that Nicole told producers she’d do it for six months. Maybe she will do 3 months in the fall when they open, and then come back and do it for 3 months in the spring for Tony awards. They could be trying to figure out who to cast in the interim.

"
That show was capitalized for under $10m. I think it may have been as low as $7m. Comparing recoupments pre-Covid to those post is not a fair comparison.
Echoing the others here who have said it’s ridiculous to think that they’d commit to bring this in with just a 12 week commitment from Nicole. She’s in it through the Tonys at least. They may do a Merrily and announce “extensions” but it’s 100% the plan to have this running with Nicole into summer 2025 at the St. James.

That’s a bold move to put it in there.
