Thanks for the reminder!
Really love Banderas in this role. He's absolutely gorgeous on Sinterse Vivo/Being Alive. This show is a nice companion piece to Nine for him. Other highlights: Marta Ribera's Las Damas Que Almuerzon (I love her sardonic laugh near the start) and Lydia Fairen's Cien Personas Más. The whole recording is a joy.
But I never understand why all the recordings post OBC have such a thin sound to them. Some people have suggested the lack of backup singers in the pit the original cast had, but the orchestrations are always pared down, too. Or sound so to me. Frustrating.
Still, this is a terrific recording. Probably right behind the OBC for me. More entertaining than the 1995 revival or the Raul Esparza or the London edition with Rosalie Craig.
Oh wow! This recording sounds incredible and Antonio Banderas sings it beautifully.
The actress playing Amy is incredibly manic singing "Getting Married Today". Just amazing.
Banderas sounds really wonderful on this recording, very impressive!
WOW! This is amazing. Banderas is such an underrated singer. If only he had done the NINE film - such a lost opportunity.

Wow, it’s good to hear those original orchestrations.
Has his voice improved since Evita and Nine? He sounds even better and more confident. “Sentirse Vivo” is gorgeous. Did this production not use “Marry Me A Little” or is it just not included on the album?

Not bad for an AARP card-carrying Bobby.

He's 62 playing Bobby in Company LOL!
The concept of the production is that Bobby is 50 and reminiscing about his life and past decissions.

Katrina and Rosalie are both great but sometimes it's just so wonderful to hear someone belt their brains out in Being Alive

I see, thanks for clarifying the concept for this production
Just listened to it and it is very nice. I had to listen to "Casarse Hoy" a few times. It's amazing.

Nice New York Times article about the production (gift link-no paywall).
"With ‘Company,’ Antonio Banderas Brings Sondheim to Spain
Many Broadway blockbusters make their way to Madrid, but Banderas wants to push the envelope with serious, complex musicals that are little-known in Spain."
