People love Hamilton. Big surprise. Why are you complaining? You won't be affected by it winning any Tonys.

"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."

Fail to see how Miranda is constantly reminding us how great the show is. Unless you mean by thanking people who tell him the show is great?

THANK YOU. Lin is one of the most humble people there is. Very confused by the previous poster's statement.

People (especially people with power ala the Tony voters) don't like to be told how to think, and we're all being told on a consistent basis how this show is the best thing since sliced bread?.

That can get annoying but it's important as a Tony Voter to remember to base your votes on the work itself. And not people's perception of it. It sounds like you went into Hamilton almost wanting to not like it because you were sick of hearing about the hype. That's not really fair to the show as the cast has no control over what is said about their show.

But for the record, I don't think Hamilton is the best thing since sliced bread. It's good but I can think of a handful of recent shows (Scottsboro boys, Passing Strange, Next to Normal, Caroline or Change) that I found to be much better than Hamilton.

And of course I don't fault you for not liking the show. It's not for everyone and nor does it have to be. And I agree with you on some points, the fans of Hamilton (especially on here) get incredibly childish when someone isn't  bowing down to the show. So yeah the hype can certainly get annoying but at the end of the day, I do really like  what Thomas Kail created on the Richard Rodgers stage and while I don't think it's the best thing since sliced bread, I think it's a very special show with incredibly talented performers.
