Cast Members in Matinees

Forgive me if this is a silly question I should know the answer to - but are the main cast members usually in the Saturday matinee performances? I'd like to see Derek Klena in Anastasia before he leaves but not sure if he performs in matinees - anyone know?

Most shows don't have alternates, so you're not generally going to get an increase in non-principals at matinees.

The cast is always as posted unless they call out for a any given reason.  Given Klena's billing, it is unlikely that you will find dates he won't be in the show as he is not a "name" at this point in his career (sometimes social media helps with this info)- he is great in this! I'm seeing him again before he leaves too!

He is scheduled for all performances, so barring illness/injury or a personal day, he should be performing.

Any way to find out before hand if Christy Altomare will be performing on a certain date? I'm planning on catching the show on the matinee of April 4th (as it's what fits best on my schedule while I'm in NYC). I'm sure Kathryn is an excellent Anya, as well, but I'm hoping to catch Christy since she's the main Anya. No hopes of seeing Derek or Caroline anymore as they'll be gone by the time I'm there. Would it be very unlikely for Christy to be on leave that day?

Christy very rarely misses shows, so unless she's really sick, you'll likely see her! :)

Yay, great to hear that! smileyAlso, what is the best way to get good tickets, through Telecharge? Would it be better to sit on the first few rows of the Mezz or the middle-front sides in the Orchestra?

I sat in the center orchestra on the aisle about halfway back and the view was absolutely fine. I think you'd be good anywhere in the orchestra except the extreme sides.

I got tickets from the TodayTix App- mid/rear mezzanine seats- perfect view. The theater is not that big and this show does look nice from further back/higher up as there are projections.

Thanks a lot for the tip, @msmp and @linus84! smiley

Yep! Got front row this Saturday matinee for $140 :) It's definitely my favorite show, and he missed both of today's shows which were apparently his last off days.

I personally like the mezz rather than middle orch, but every seat in that house is great.

Thanks guys! Pulled the trigger on Front Mezz Row C center seats. It was either that or Orchestra Row O center or Orchestra outer sides. Went with the front mezz seats.

Can't wait to watch the show!

*crossing my fingers that Christy will be performing*
