From Kristin Chenoweth official website
"It is with great regret that we let you all know Kristin Chenoweth will not be participating in the November Women of Faith concert in Oklahoma City. She has been asked to withdraw by the organization due to her publicized and heartfelt beliefs that God is accepting of all people on earth. Kristin's personal views and faith to this effect have not changed, despite the Women of Faith's actions. Kristin is saddened and disappointed that she will not be able to perform for those of you who were planning on attending. She thanks you for your love, support and patience."
Another proud day for Christianity and Freedom of Speech!
Come back to Broadway Kristin, those people don't deserve you!

Good for her. They obviously don't deserve to have her around anyway.
She must be feeling something like those gay and lesbians who have grown up loving their faith and the people who first taught it them only to be rejected when they come out of the closet.
One does wonder who is closer to following the message of Christ..the CWC or Chenoweth.
Having spent a lot of time in my life around the women these conferences attract, WoF's move does not surprise me, given Kristin's statements and Broadway activities. After some of her earlier appearances, the WoF message board was bustling with very nasty comments with regard to Kristin. Tolerance, though a Biblical concept, is not something that is truly practiced among many people who involve themselves in these events. Sad, its these groups that give Christianity a bad name, among others. Not very Christ-like if you ask me.
I applaud Kristin for standing up for her own beliefs, which I share, despite being raised in a VERY conservative church environment.
Absolutely yipper, the kicked out the one person who demonstrated what it is to be a Christian woman.

Whatever happened to saying that someone left due to "artistic differences"?
Well it sucks that they're so intolerant. It will probably only cast more negative light on them than her.
Guess she won't be doing too many more Jesus CD's.
I guess the "artistic indifferences" memo will probably be issued by the Women of Faith people.

Kristin should have lied.
Went.
Thens pread her beliefs.
I would have paid to see all those angry faces.
Just Kidding.
See, and y'all called her...names.
Perhaps they should rename their organization "Women of One Particularly Narrow-Minded Faith."

Yes, sometimes these people act as if they'd never read the Bible or what Jesus was all about. They are too busy being self-important "Christians" to truly BE Christians. Probably for the best that she keeps clear of this group of people anyway. There are plenty of us who love her and will welcome her performances wherever she goes!
All the best, KC! YOU ROCK!
yeah well... Integrity must be pretty happy that the album sold well before that because I'm not so sure it'll be doing so well now...
You know, I learnt something today. I learnt that when you're a Christian, it doesn't matter what you believe as long as you shut up about it.
What - do the WoF not believe in the phrase "God Is Love"? Sounds to me like they believe in "God is Hate unless you're straight and hate everyone who's not."
I don't think the CD did that well. It was on the Christian Billboard chart for 3 weeks before dropping off. There was an article that said it sold a million or something but unless it was huge overseas...
I have a question. Where in the Bible does it teach that tolerance is a Christian concept? KChenowethfan states that it is. I've heard a lot of people say it is too...but I'm not sure were you can reference that. (I'm not being smart - I really want to know.)
Also, any refrences to "God is Love", showing that he is accepting of all people and practices would be greatly apprecitated.
Thanks,
A
Im glad the website states the real reason for her not performing. Way to be honest, Cheno. I'm starting to appreciate her more and more...
Guess she won't be doing too many more Jesus CD's.
Just because some people who claim to have the same religious beliefs as you are jackasses doesn't mean that you have to give up on your own faith. After all that crap about fundi-Muslims came out after 9/11, other Muslims didn't renounce their faith, because that's a pathetic reaction. If it's your own religious beliefs, other people's opinions on them shouldn't change you.
I learnt that when you're a Christian, it doesn't matter what you believe as long as you shut up about it.
The majority of the time, it's not just other Christians that want you to shut up about it.
Good for Kristin. I'm glad she stated the real reason she was dropped, and put it as eloquently as she did, because they are definitely the ones that are at fault here.
Isn't one of the 10 Commandments "Love Thy Neighbor", last time I checked their wasn't a footnote saying "unless of course he/she happens to be Xxx"
That's not one of the 10 commandments, Jesus said it.
Well, in this case, Gothampc, "artistic differences" has been replaced with "the truth."
I wouldn't presume to infer what you meant by your post--it sounds (yes, i know) like you would have preferred to hear artistic differences rather than hear the real reason--is that the case? And if so, why?
Good for Cheno--she made the right call.
Closest I found in 10 commandments was: THOU SHALT NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS AGAINST THY NEIGHBOR.
(i had to look on line, cause i couldnt remember them myself.)
1 John 3:18
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
1 John 4:7-10
"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. {8} Whoever does not love does not know God, because GOD IS LOVE. {9} This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. {10} This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
I could find more, but I'm not going to add to the debate. If Christianity is about hatred, I want to be an atheist.
So, if Christinity is not about acceptance of all practices...does that automatically mean its about hatred?
Perhaps its not about hatred at all.
If the Bible teaches homosexuality is wrong, why is it suddenly labeled as hatred? Gossip is wrong, but that does constitute the Bible as pushing hatred, just cause a gossiper has a problem with it?

The tolerance concept is expressed in Matthew 7:1, Luke 6:37, for whoever asked.
Love thy neighbor, is as others have said, not one of the 10 commandments, but is stated in Leviticus 19:18, Matthew 19:19, and Matthew 22:39.
But on topic, I think Kristin, and the music she put on her newest CD, exudes tolerance and love.

The fact is that the CWC felt Kristin wasn't representing their best interests. Whether CWC's belief are right or not isn't really the point. People are terminated all the time in Corporate America because their beliefs vary from those of the company. I'm sure CWC will compensate Kristin according to the terms of the contract.
Well, there are lots of things the bible said in the old testament that are contradicted in the new testament. Nevertheless, we will all find out the truth soon. Be kinda funny if I'm spending eternity with Jesus, Rock Hudson and "Christians" are spending it elsewhere with Jerry Falwell.
