Horse - was the woman w the long curly hair...was the hair in a long ponytail and did she have a bit of a high forehead and milked her lil monologue for a it's worth? If so that's Sharon who's always divine....as are Stephanie (have only seen as Velma) and Donna Marie.
Amra is def not doing the original 96 dancing. Your comments on her are dead on. She's the main reason I stay away from my fav show (I've seen it over 100xs over the 17 yea run) it's just painful to watch. Dylis did some public performances - Broadway in Bryant Park - as Charity when she was in the "Sweet Charity" revival! wasn't that great can only imagine her Roxie
I had a blast tonight at the last Chicago show here in Austin. It's was very cool and about 35 F. Anne Horak has a nice voice and the ensemble was amazing. Miss Terra C was her usual fabulous self. from RC in Austin, Texas
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
I saw Terra in the 3rd national tour back in 2006 and it's nice to know she is still with the show. Her's is one of the reasons I remember that performance fondly.
That...and the sweet elderly gentleman I sat next to who was so excited to see the show and called me "lad" even though I was 28 at the time, lol.

I came across this clip of a recent 2013 Moscow production of Chicago. Interesting. Chicago In Moscow

I'm seeing the show for my third time on the 19th (with Bebe, fittingly in row BB) I'm PRAYING Amra doesn't get extended past the 12th. Once with her was enough.

I agree with you about A.F. W. It would be boring if the show would get a new Velma for a few weeks, only to have AFW return after that. How about Nikka Graff Lazarone (sp?). She did the role for a time a few years ago. Nicole Scherzinger would make an amazing Velma. Anyone but A.F.W.

It appears Anne Horak has replaced Bianca Morroquin as Roxie. I'd imagine there will be some announcement in the next few days who the new cast members joining Bebe will be.
(fingers crossed for Samantha Barks to make her broadway debut as Velma)

I think that means that Bianca may be joining Terra C with the national tour. That would be great news!

No Nikka please. Saw her do the role. Fabulous dancer but was very avg/lacking in character....was like she was just saying the lines.
It'll most likely be someone who's done the role. They've got Bebe, who sells tickets at the ol "Chicago", Fran and Barry are too cheap to bring in another name, I'd guess it'll be Amra still.
please please pleaaaaase Fran n Barry I will be happy with literally ANYONE as Velma save for Ms. Wright. A stage hand with a mop might be more interesting.

Terra C MacLeod would be a fantastic replacement for AFW. However, Terra C is the national tour Velma at this time. How about Leigh Zimmerman? She would be an awesome replacement.

Bianca recently tweeted: So, joining Chicago touring company for a week only jan 6th through 12th. 13th performing Roxie in Nashville and Back on Broadway jan 14th. Then! Staying on broadway through march 3rd then back on march 31st through April 27th. Was that confusing? :)
Leigh Zimmerman needs to stay away. Stunning. Beautiful. Amazing Kitty in the OBRC. She was a sloppy dancing Velma on Broadway.
Re: Bianca yes it's confusing. That's "Chicago" for ya. I have a program insert from summer 2010 that literally says Amra, Brenda Braxton, Terra McLeod - Bianca, Ruthie Henshall In "Chicago" also had two Mamas and I believe two Billy's on it....sorry too lazy to look for it.
Why can't Deidre Goodwin come back? Loved her Velma.
I don't know if she can dance the role, but I'd love to see Caroline O'Connor back in the role. I saw ten or so years ago on Broadway and she was easily one of the best. (I think she's done it back home more recently.) She might still be in town since she just finished A Christmas Story.

I, for one, rather adored Leigh Zimmerman in the role, and would welcome her back.
As for Caroline O'Connor, I spoke to her at the stage door for a Christmas Story on closing night, she's not scheduled to return but said she's love to do it again.
I'd also love for Patina Miller to play Velma at some point.

Amra Fay Wright as Velma (thru 4/27) Ann Horak as Rock (thru 1/12) Bianca Marroquin as Roxie (1/13 - 3/1; 3/31 - 4/7) Ryan Silverman as Billy Flynn (thru 1/19) Brent Barret as Billy Flynn (1/20 - 3/16; 3/24 - 4/27) Elvis Stojko as Billy Flynn (3/17 - 3/23) Roz Ryan as Mama Morton (thru 1/13) Bebe Neuwirth as Mama Morton (1/14 - 3/9) Christopher Fitzgerald as Amos (thru 4/27) R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine (thru 8/24)
I was planning to go back to see Bebe next week. I love Bianca but I've seen her so many times, wanted to see someone new. I am happy that Ryan and Christopher will be in, I was really hoping they'd extend. Amra...well, what can you say...

As much as I want to see the show again with Bebe as Mama, I just can't stand the thought of spending money to see Amra sleep walk through the show again.
