How soon the fans have forgotten the this sap was FIRED from the touring cast of RENT. Almost anyone who has seen the non-equity tours of RENT can tell you, it takes a helluva lot to get fired from that production. Word on the street was he had horrible work ethic, was unpredictable and there are rumors that there was some mild physical violence that happened backstage. And his reviews were lukewarm at the very best. Are we to believe that's he really grown up THAT much in the past two years?

Enough with the back and forth insulting comments from the dueling fan base factions and others. Continued behavior will not be tolerated on this board and will result in this thread being locked, more post deleted, and in board members' suspension of posting privileges in all threads.
Just lock the thread already. It's been discussed to death and is really not worth keeping around.
I agree it is not worth being kept around, and that poster is way off the mark. It is a minor role he has and stunt casted besides. That is far from "starring" as one can get, and if this awful thing was approved by his team, they too are amateurish and certainly much, MUCH below average to allow such a horribly photoshopped and misleading flyer to be circulated. I guess they missed class the day professional ethics was taught.

Thanks so much for moderating the discussion. Really appreciated.
A moderator, moderating the discussion? Who would think of such an awful thing?

Here is Constantine on August 29, 2006 at a party wearing The Wedding Singer tshirt.
I would love to see the entire cast together. Looking forward to that. I am excited he will be performing in live theatre and especially on Broadway. Whoever goes is really going to have a wonderful evening. NYC, Broadway, and Constantine Maroulis--quite a trio. And if you go with good friends, even better!!

Thanks, Yankeefan. I know I will. I love NYC. We go there as often as possible. I love Broadway, too. Unlike some lucky New Yorkers, it is a special treat for me. I haven't seen enough Broadway shows. Also, Times Square is fun, as long as you are not there too long...too many people in one small space. But there is nothing in this world compared to Broadway and NYC. Finally, I have seen Constantine sing, but never act. I saw a short clip of Rent, that is all. I am excited by the idea. I can tell he is worked hard on acting and has what it takes---confidence, freedom of movement, ability to become a character, great projection, desire to perform in such a setting, and so many other nuances of acting I really can't describe.
Thanks----I am very excited about the idea.

I KNOW I'm gonna get crucified for saything this, but I'm actually excited, too. I've seen Wedding Singer many, many times. Constantine, I feel, is the best replacement for Saldivar, judging by looks alone (I'm not familiar with him from Idol). I know it's not a great way to judge, but he's a rocker.

I know what you mean, about looks. He is extremely good looking. Great face, hair, wonderful facial expressions not pouting LOL), tall man, long legs. Great voice. Tons of charisma...let's face it, if you have the ability to make people like you...that is always a plus.

He's just rubbing his nipple in that picture. Everyone should be glad he's not rubbing something else.

I cannot wait to see him in a mohawk! If I could, I would stay in NYC for an ENTIRE week! Does the role call for nipple touching? Maybe he is working on the character?

I think he will be exceptional at playing the role of the sleazy friend.
I think his emoting skills will really shine through in this performance. :P

I personally do not believe it, only based on somethings that happened on the AI tour. He performed the last show drunk! Now granted, it is American Idol tour, but I think it speaks to his work ethic.
He also alienated every other Idol with his Divo routines... telling them HE was the reason there were butts in the seats and given them critiques on their performances and stuff.
*shrug* I doubt the other actors will let him get away with that, so maybe he will grow up a little.

Just saw the Good Day New York clip! He is so charming. This lady who is a grandmother was so sweet standing next to him. He gave tips on looking into the camera to the new American Idol contestants. That was fun. Looked like the news reporters enjoyed talking to him a lot.
He wore the Wedding Singer hat. He was promoting Broadway and The Wedding Singer big time.
Definitely good for business!

Con needs to know that this is his chance to show he can play with the bigboys. Not just play with himself.

He will have to grow up, lest we see another "THEY ALL HATE ME" rant.

He was pointing to the logo in the picture I posted. Very proud to be in the show. I am looking forward to learning more about the other actors and seeing everyone perform.

I wonder if an 8 week run on Broadway can make or break an actor's chances at ever being on Broadway again?
Is there a lot of pressure when an unknown celebrity commodity like Constantine comes into a show that needs a little push and then it does not happen?
