Well, I think any newcomer to the theatre with $$ for tickets is most welcome!

Constantine is going to be fantastic in the Wedding Singer. It is wonderful he has returned to acting. I am looking forward to seeing him on stage. He is very talented.

Somebody sounds a little bit defensive and snippy.
As Harris007 would say:
good lord!
He is a good actor, though many will likely say his performance does not match the caliber of Matthew's. However, I will reserve my own judgment until I actually see him on stage.

That makes sense to me. Until he actually performs, it is too soon to pass judgement. I hope he is very successful and I have a feeling he will do a great job. He seems to put tremendous effort into anything he does, from what I have observed.

This Constantine thing could be a stroke of genius. Just think of the possibilities this type of "name" casting could offer:
Gary Coleman as Fake Mr. T...
Tammy Faye Bakker as Rosie...
Andrew Dice Clay as Glen...
Danny Bonaduce as George...
Anna Nicole Smith as Holly...
Monica Lewinsky as Julia...
And William "Love is what I do" Hung as Robbie Hart!

I hope Constantine does well. I am a fan of his from way back, though I've been running out of steam lately. He did a mini tour that catered to his internet fans on the east coast and I think that went well, but, don't really know for sure as the reviews come from the same internet fans. It will be interesting to see what he can do in this role and what type of response he gets. He does have some powerful pipes.
I will give him a chance in Brel once...but only ONLY because I can't neglect or abandon Bob and Gay and Natascia...if Gay's even still there...if they're all even still there...but I digress...
I LOVE Brel. The show is INCREDIBLE. But The four of them...Bob and Gay and Natascia and Drew MAKE that show INCREDIBLE and part of that is the fact they're amazing PEOPLE. Outside of the theatre, inside of the theatre, together, apart...they make that experience worthwhile. And I would absolutely HATE to see it go to the dogs and have an insane American Idol fan-following... good for the paychecks...not so good for the people there to enjoy it for what it is. (and not so good for the 3 other actors who deserve praise and might get shut out).
I'm not going to pretend like I'm some fascist innocent who went to see Brel because it was BREL...no. No I had planned to see it because Bob was in it...and when Drew joined that made it official--I HAD to go...and yes, I saw the show the first time because I was a fan of 2 actors and I was dying to see them again...but that first time brought more amazing people into my life...and a STORY and a PURPOSE and it quickly became clear that it wasn't about Drew anymore. It's about the show. It's about ALL of them. And one would only hope that those who follow Constantine to the Zipper (dammit I'm gonna be stuck in the rear right mezz for the rest of my life now) take it to heart and see it in a similar fashion...you can't help falling in love with all of them.
That's my 2 cents...take it or leave it. If you're going to leave it, please send it to the starving actor who deserves the role more than an American Idol superstar.

This is the Flyer HIS TEAM is asking his fans to distribute. Even though he is not actually starring. Kinda creepy. Ego much?

He is VERY creepy and scurvy looking. Yikes!

He has a hell of an ego to make flyers of himself in the starring role. What a tool.

I don't agree. The poster looks fine. See also his myspace which has links to both The Wedding Singer and Jacques Brel:

The Wedding Singer site has included Constantine Maroulis in the picture.

sweetconni - aren't you the head of the fan group he asked to deliver this bogus flyer?

Settle down ladies. LOL Everything is cool.
I am glad to see the show actively promoting Constantine joining the cast for 8 weeks. Very exciting times.

Sweetconni, get back on track.
The flyer was produced by Constantine's team. It says so in the communication that distributed it.
Can we call David Passick or Kirsten Le Sommier to find out if he has been upgraded to a starring role?

Well if it lasts 8 weeks, maybe he will have a place to take a shower because he looks like he needs one.

I'm glad to see the show supporting him too Sweet, and I hear ticket sales are doing okay too. If people give him a chance, I think they'll be very surprised. He's grown a lot in the last year and a half, his singing and performances are much better now even than they were on AI.

And the singing and performances were wonderful on AI. I hear tickets are selling like hotcakes. That is wonderful. Anyone who wants to catch the show while he is in it better buy their ticket very soon.
I hear Matthew is wonderful in the role too and the whole company is extremely talented. Sounds like a great cast and show all around. Constantine is fortunate to have this opportunity to work with such a group of talented actors. And he knows that. He said he is very excited about this role.
I hope they post closing notices the day he bows. Yuck he looks like Sarah Gilbert.

Well, it looks like Constantine posted that he wants everyone to spread the flier around, even though it says "starring Constantine" on it.
Jaaaysus.

"...he looks like Sarah Gilbert"
LOL! Only she has more talent and looks like she may shower regularly and she is butcher.
My issue with Constantine is that he poses and mugs way too much...there could be potential talent if he chills a little and/or takes direction.
Babyfishmouth, I LOVE your name-- my second favorite
moment in that movie!!! (WHMS)
