The new company will undoubtedly acquire the contractual obligations of the old company. Why would you think the sale of the theater would force the show out that was already in it, unless the show was willing to move out?

Could Spidey be closing soon????

I hope not. Nothing else could run this long in crazy space.

Could Spidey be closing soon????

I rolled my eyes when I hear King Kong was becoming a musical but that video that was released had me intrigued, at least with the puppetry.

Could Spidey be closing soon????

No. It has been well-documented that the sale of the Foxwoods had to include purchasing the contract for Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark to prevent the new owner from just shutting the show down.

Is there anything in that contract to stop the new owner from jacking up the rent price?
#13

Could Spidey be closing soon????

I'm sure the contract has them locked into the price until it expires. Then they could just kick them out if they no longer want them.

King Kong looks pretty intriguing to me.

Could Spidey be closing soon????

Based on the grosses recently through it could be closing soon...
Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

Could Spidey be closing soon????

I think this terrible show has ran its course and should close soon!!! Also the grosses for this show lately have been very low. I wonder what the new name for this theater will.

In the article the new owners said they are looking forward to bringing good "music" to the theater. They did not say plays or musicals, but specifically music. It's Live Nation, I would not be surprise if it becomes a concert venue!

Could Spidey be closing soon????

I havent seen the show, but is it at all tour-able? Could a scaled down version of the production be created? I feel like this show would be so successful, as it is/was on Broadway on the road.

Could Spidey be closing soon????

It's very much not. At least not in its current production.

^ They could not tour the show with the same design that they have now at the Foxwoods. I do not see how they could re-concieve the design without making MAJOR cuts. This is one show that HAS to have the spectacle. I loved this show, but the technical elements were what made it worth seeing... The book and score, while passable and serviceable, need those design elements to make this show work. It's a flawed show, but one that I enjoyed nonetheless.

I think once the summer months hit, SPIDER-MAN will see its tourists again and its numbers will increase. Then September it will fall but once the holidays come around, I'm sure it will pick up steam once again. But who knows? Anything is possible.

If the show tours it would probably be re-conceived as an arena tour/spectacle, as opposed to a show that is going to traditional theaters. That way they could potentially pack in 50,000 people over the course of a couple of days. Think along the scale of things like "Walking with Dinosaurs" and the arena production of "How to Train Your Dragon."
