There are actors who are “the face” of the show and doing press, but are not above the title. We understand what this means in terms of guaranteed performances or refund. Why are we acting brand new?"
Why are you trying to act like what's happening with Hilty and Simard is normal? It's not. And you don't need to be around here for 20 years to understand that.

Jennifer was on tonight on Watch What Happens Live . With Snoop and Lizzo. She looks fabulous.

Megan's out of the matinee (again).

Just for the hell of it, I’d love to know what the current missed performance count is here…

Megan Hilty is also out on Tuesday 5/20 performance!

I hope this happens. There is no shame in not doing 8 shows a week but it would be nice to have some more transparency about scheduling.
I have seen the show 3 times and two of them Megan called out at the last min (once I was already in the city). I love the show regardless of who is on for the leads but it still would have been a consideration for me to choose which date I chose instead of just crossing your fingers. (And it’s no hate on understudies, I have specifically gone to see planned understudy dates in other shows such as Sweeney because the understudies were so amazing).
I’m also surprised the same performers cover both Madeline and Helen because they seem such vocally different roles.

They are out so much that it has unfortunately become expected.

After the Tonys, they should really reassess things. Get a set schedule of 6 shows a week for the ladies with more transparency for audiences or just leave.

5 years from now are we gonna hear that the two leads actually hated each other behind the scenes in a memoir lol

No one here is hating on women. au contraire. We are loving on them. These ladies are flawless. When they show up.

You got to give it over to Nicole at Sunset. Girl wakes up does press, sings her heart out in the afternoon, and still shows up to work for a week (and missed one show)

If you think that's the case, you haven't been following this thread, which has largely devolved into raking them across the coals.

Yes, congratulations to Nicole for having a part that only requires her to park and bark her two big numbers and run around in a circle flailing about the stage at one point, but is otherwise mostly stationary.

Stupid comment. Nicole's attendance in a very intense part has been remarkable.

So she isn’t doing pratfalls or delivering a ten minute tap solo. That means she’s not giving a demanding, intense performance? Or that she doesn’t deserve kudos for only calling out one time between NY and London?
What’s your point?
You make it sound like she’s wheeled on and off the stage by a stagehand to deliver one line 8x a week. 🙄

Exactly. Nicole makes it look effortless because she is so talented and the entire production/direction fits her like a glove so it seems like an effortless marriage. No one has ever suggested Norma Desmond is an easy role until now. In fact, if you take someone like Glenn Close her vocals did not make the part seem easy at all.

They must have never seen her do the backward somersaults in Act 2.

Is there any chance ‘death becomes her’ could upset for best musical? Eg if Tony voters want to go big splashy audience pleaser instead of little show that could? (Since we’ve had a few of those recently).

there has been a ton of hate beyond the mild snark in your post but I’m speaking specifically of the one suggesting these two women hate each other which is a laughable and annoying suggestion

Johnny Oleksinski just put out a piece suggesting this may be a possibility...
A big hit, I’m told, was the “Death Becomes Her” soiree at Sony Hall. The comedy’s stars Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard and Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child all showed up and schmoozed.
The much funnier stage version of the movie starring Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn was also very popular with the visitors.
“Death” has emerged as the more traditional, crowd-pleasing alternative to the Best Musical frontrunner, robot rom-com “Maybe Happy Ending"

Oh it’s not hate . I read that. It’s fun speculation based on the parts they play . A diva and her wanna be bestie. And throw in the fact that the actresses have a poor attendance record. People are just having fun and talking show. No one is hating on them. Lighten up.
