Bernadette was in LA filming her pilot. She taped a sweet message, similar to what she says in the program book (which is on its way to you in Poland).
Barbra did the same, with her dog yapping off-camera.
Was the dog yapping Sondheim?
Was it channelling "The Day Off"?
Silly. He was doing his Mandy Patinkin imitation.
Of course...
Pardon me...

Thanks for a great review! I am so sad that I missed this event, but once again the price tag (and the distance between me and NYC) had to keep me away. But I must ask --
Was Nathan there as promised? What did he sing?

That was a very well written review and enjoyable read.
which lines did Patti flub??? c'mon I want details!!!
I remember Patti flubbing Mrs. Lovett lines in Sweeney at Lincoln Center some years ago. Boy she knows a lot of lines.
Tell me more about Harvey's performance. Raul's and Stephanie's.
Sounds like a great show.
I, too, have heard absolutely wonderful things...although wasn't everything they did also done on Saturday at the Wall-to-Wall?
Okay, 36 hours later, the song from that evening that sticks in my mind and won't go away: Audra singing "There Won't Be Trumpets."
Who needs trumpets, indeed.
I ADORE that song...
Hey, I ADORE Anyone Can Whistle...
So shoot me...
Id have given anything to be there. Sondheim is my favorite composer of all time. His music is just so perfect. I think they should have done more Assasins (according to Pal Joey they ony did Got the Right) Its one of his best, Id have liked to see The Ballad of Guiteau or somehting btu im sure it was incredible. I hope there is a way to see it (like a recoding or something)
They did Gun Song (Ballad of Czolgosz) as well...

BUMP for Sondheim...
Just came across this thread from 10 years ago. I'd almost forgot this concert.
Here's the gorgeous "Weekend in the Country from that concert performed by a flawless sextet consisting of the late Rebecca Luker, Judy Kuhn, Michael Cerveris, Michele Pawk, John Dossett, and Hugh Panaro. The orchestra was led by Kevin Stites with a 75-person "Broadway Star Chorus."
