Phoniex left Les Miz today. So it looks likley that she could be taking over the Alana role once Kristolyn leaves the show. (Sorry if I spelled her name wrong!)

Is Diamond just a vacation swing or a permanent addition? She’s not on the cast board, but she’s been posting photos from the music box.
I feel so bad for Mallory, she’s had two weeks vacation swinging and hasn’t gone on, I think it would be interesting to see her in the role since she’s closer to the age of the character than the other actresses.

Diamond is a new permanent addition. She is the new Zoe/Alana cover.

From what I've gathered Kristolyn is leaving March 11. Also, after seeing Beth Malone in Angels last night I was thinking she would make a great Heidi Hansen. Go figure, both understudies Garret and Nicole were Beth's covers in Fun Home!!

Any idea on a replacement? I thought it was going to be Phoniex but on her instrgam story a couple days ago it looks like she was doing stage managment for the Les Mis tour.

I really believe it'll be Olivia Puckett. They brought in a new cover for her two roles a month or two before she would be leaving her track. They did the exact same thing when Ben Ross replaced Colton Ryan. And they had a different vacation swing while Diamond was being hired, so she's definitely there permanently. I wouldn't think they'd need two understudies for those roles, but they have two for the moms, so I guess I don't know. I don't have any authority to know this, but Olivia makes the most sense to me.

i saw taylor as evan twice last week after seeing ben twice last july.

Taylor plays evan much smaller in the beginning than ben does, then expands as Evan becomes more popular. Taylor has a bit thinner voice than Ben at the high end, and its very pretty. Taylors evan is not as likeable and affable as Bens but his Evan grows on most people over the show.

I liked him a lot, and am confident the Dear Evan Hansen franchise will go on for a long long time.
