I've known there was a musical version of THE NOTEBOOK in the works but someone has just told me Derek is in it.
How did I miss that bit of information?

I hope so! I wonder who would play Ally? Maybe Derek Hough's real life girlfriend Hayley Erbert?

Just last month, the BWW rumor was that he would be "Singing in the Rain" in Vegas. Busy man.

In a dancing show? My God, I would think he would be incredible! Singing in the Rain? Footloose? Hell yeah!
But, for the Notebook? I can't see it unless they turned it into a dance heavy musical.

Posted: 8/16/21 at 5:02pmJust because they cast a dancer doesn’t mean the show will automatically be dance heavy?

I love statements posed as questions. Cute.
Casting a professional dancer in a non heavy dance role would be a complete waste, as everyone already knows. Oh sorry.
As everyone already knows?

Does "everyone" really already know about this? Sshh .. better not tell people like Shirley MacLaine, Christopher Walken, Jennifer Lopez, Kelly Bishop, Priscilla Lopez, Penelope Cruz, Charlize Theron, Liza Minnelli, Gene Kelly, Sutton Foster...need I go on?? Good thing none of them were ever cast in something that was not a "heavy dance role"!

Do we have any idea on Ally or is that too soon? I feel like Stephanie Styles would also be great!

I'd love to see Timothee Chalamet in this role or if we are going "stud" like Richard Fleeshman

Posted: 8/16/21 at 10:29pmI believe this adaptation is splitting the central couple into pairs of 3 different ages, right? As opposed to the one younger pair and one older pair in the film. I take it he would be up for the middle Noah?

Correct, and I believe they used people of all different races in the reading, which they still plan to do for the Broadway production. Which led to a lot of confusion for reading attendees...
