And that little 7 year old girl.. we found our upcoming cast of the Wicked film. Justin plays Fiyero?
at 5:50min, I was impressed at how suddenly we switched from Wicked, to House.

"I would have thought that more people would find it atrocious to be criticizing a child on a message board. I do"
It isn't actually the child that is being criticised - the whole thing is a product of his 'parents'. Have they no shame?

Welcome to showbiz. If the kid can't handle some message board slams, then he certainly won't be able to take the critics. It's part of the package. If you put yourself out there, it critique happens. His loving family should be prepping him for that.

Message boards, aided by anonymity, are much more vicious than any critic's work I've ever read.
Yes but ask Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus and Kristin Stewart how they deal with it. It's part of the package nowadays-for better or worse. The kid's gotta toughen up.

Yes, he does have to be tough to survive and grow into a healthy adult. We can also exercise some restraint, responsibility, and strength of character when we are online, and help create a more nurturing world.

Brooke, I totally respect your opinion, but we aren't his mentors or therapists on here. The kid has released a music video and some here like it, some loathe it. He's in the entertainment realm and we are just joking around. It's no different than what a Chelsea Handler, Perez Hilton or Daniel Tosh would say.

I haven't been clear.
I'm asking everyone here to make the choice to be more sensitive when discussing children, making this corner of the world more nurturing, not less.
I don't care about what anyone else does - the world doesn't need more Perezes and one person's bad behavior doesn't excuse another's. This is not a therapist or mentor request.
If you want to make a different choice, you are free to do so, as I'm free to make this request. Just accept responsibility for your own part in making the world a little crueler.
I think many of the people who post on here are funny. I don't honestly think the root of most comedy is cruelty. Many of us posters have known each other for years and get each other and the humor. I'm sorry for offending.
I get what you're saying though-leave a kid alone.
However, his family is ultimately responsible for putting him out there in such a vulnerable way. They are making poor choices on his behalf. He's going to experience backlash and people won't always be nice.

I agree with you completely, and thank you for understanding my point of view.
As for the comedy, I've never understood this type of humor. But I can respect it when it's intelligent, clearly meant to be humorous, and not an attack on a child.
Brooke, I agree, children should be protected, both physically and emotionally. I think his family is doing him a disservice. They produced a video that ultimately looks cheap, tacky, campy and unintentionally funny. People are going to say what they say.

I agree. And, yes, they will say what they'll say.

I do think that it's unrealistic to expect a polished, professional video from DIYers. It makes little sense to hold it, or any like it, to a professional standard, even if that was a person's aim.
