Is there really no discussion? In theory it sounds 'cute', but upon actual inspection, it's horrific. Not horrific in the same way as David Hasselhoff's performance in Jekyll & Hyde, but actually, truly terrifying.

That was atrocious.
I really hope this child goes to a performing arts school. If not, school must be a terror for him.

His website refers to him as a "child prodigy" who has an "undeniable genetic advantage over other performers."
Poor child. Seems like his mother (and grandmother) could put Madame Rose to shame for worst stage parent.

Posted: 9/12/10 at 7:50pmI think the creepy little kid that lip syncs to brittany spears and katy perry is better.

Posted: 9/12/10 at 8:02pmI don't really think putting a supportive, loving speech before "Defying Gravity" is a good directorial choice.

Who cares if the video is bad. It's a home video but better than a lot we have seen. Granted, the concept does not go with the song. The boy sings better than most 9 year olds I know. Wonderful that he has the support he has from his family. I think he sounds great.

Posted: 9/12/10 at 8:29pmI'll admit, I gave it a thumbs down. It's not the singing, it was the entire video. The beginning, the whole little girl and the Titanic pose. It was weird.

...and the weird autotune. The whole thing was so manufactured.
The registrar of the domain of the company that made the video belongs to his mother:
http://www.lisadawnmiller.com/ - It's all a bit over the top for a 'home video'. (I.e., it's not 'just' a home video)
I agree about a performing arts school :P, that girl-pose (probably his sister) cannot hide that lisp.

Who would do this to do a 7-year-old boy?

Posted: 9/12/10 at 8:46pmThe autotune was crazy. Also, I watched that 7-year-old video, and that was just sad. Why would you ever do that? It's terrible.
