My point is I haven’t seen a single review of the actual telecast, which makes me happy. That idiot thought people his NASCAR crowd would tune in to a performing arts show just to see him.

As you might expect, they will vary by artist and institution.  In my time on boards of performing arts institutions, the only contractual outs performers had were illness or force majeure conditions.  Redd may indeed be on the hook for some damages given the timing and stated reason for cancellation.

Does this hurt Trump, answer is no. Does this hurt ushers and others who lose a night's pay, the answer is yes. Better ways to voice displeasure with Trump than hurting working people.

Redd's reputation and brand could also have been hurt had he continued to perform as we have seen other artists heavily criticized and/or face other retribution. That is certainly part of the argument I would make in his defense to limit any damages from the threatened legal action.  

I also wonder if the contractual language was with the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and not the Trump and Kennedy Center.  I can imagine some lawyers arguing this is splitting hairs or while otters would make the case it is a valid difference.

Would it become irrelevant though, if it's determined that the "Trump-Kennedy Center" doesn't, or never legally exists/existed?

I'll admit it. I watched the Michael Crawford segment and was impressed with Laura's soprano notes even if she didn't quite nail the ending of Phantom. Carrie's performance was a park and bark. and David as the Phantom was OK.

Sounds like it's Donald Trump that's hurting the Ushers and House Staff tho? If he was only a massive piece of **** but let the Kennedy Center run independent of him, nobody would have an issue. However he insisted on jamming himself and loyalists onto the board, canceled a bunch of Queer programming (which hurt those Ushers and Staff you pretend to care about), alienated many high profile productions from wanting to do business there, and then capped it off by putting his NAME on it. 

So why don't you tell me who is doing damage to the Kennedy Center and it's Staff? Chuck Redd? Or is it Donal Trump? The typical culprit...

Not watching the TV show of the awards and that was successful, lowest TV rating in years. That seems to have shut Trump up. Fight the renaming of the Kennedy Center which I believe Congress has the power to do. Every performance at the Kennedy Center have people protesting outside of the event.

So protesting outside, which is meant to keep people away from the Center and thereby deny it and its employees money, is fine, but canceling a performance on principle, which denies the Center and its employees money, is not okay. Girl. Don’t rush back after your vacation if this wishy-washy nonsense is what you’re going to keep shoveling our way.

The intent of a protest is to discourage people from giving money and attending something, so what exactly are you hoping is accomplished by that?
