Gee, I wonder which performances La Murphy will show up for. I'd guess opening night but, otherwise, I hope they have a powerhouse understudy waiting in the wings.

Could not agree more with you, Ljay. Harris cannot compare, Murphy is going to be amazing.
Almost peed my pants when WannaBe told me about this! I'm so so so excited! Murphy is going to own the part. It'll be a hoot to see her and Foster together.

Finally got around to watching the clip of her singing Me and My Town on Broadway Beat. She'll be just as divine as she always is. I know I wasn't sure when people were tossing her name around, but the more I thought about it, the more sense it made. Can't wait to see this!
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Best news of the week, month, whatever! Although deep down inside I was hoping for Debbie Gravitte, Donna Murphy is perfect for the role. I can't wait to find out who Hapgood is going to be. I'm crossing my fingers for Steven Pasquale!

Oh, I wasn't talking about Wonderful Town, only. Remember the Kurt Weill show? Her attendance at that wasn't so great either, until Hal Prince told her get your act together or get out, period. And, lo and behold, she started showing up.

Ed, she missed one, maybe two performances of LoveMusik. She, and other members of the cast, came down with the flu. I seem to recall that Judy Blazer was the first to suffer and within a few days several performers were affected.

I seem to recall that she only missed two or three performances of LOVEMUSIK. and yes, she did do all six performances of the Encores! FOLLIES.
This news about Murphy in WHISTLE is the best news we could have ever hoped for. Frankly, I was not too excited about Sutton Foster's casting in this show, but now that Donna Murphy is in it too, I hope it propels Sutton do want to perform even better than her best. Once Hapgood is announced (and if he is someone good), then we can all rest easy.
I have confidence that this will be an amazing production of a show we may never see again in our lifetimes.
