Patti Lupone was in Sunset. However, she was fired. Then drama drama drama.....in a nutshell she did it before and she will probably never do it again. (I have a feeling that you already knew this)
I would love to see Patti LuPone take on Sally in Follies, to see her play a more nuanced, "quieter" character. It's not traditional casting, but I would love to see her in the role. I've heard her sing "Losing My Mind" (what I believe is the bet torch song of all time), and would kill to hear her "Don't Look At Me" and "In Buddy's Eyes".
Also Bernadette as Mrs. Lovett.
"Sticks and stones, sister. Here, have a Valium." - Patti LuPone, a Memoir
Laura Osnes : Eliza in My Fair Lady, Sean Palmer : Don Lockwood in Singin' In The Rain Colin Donnell : Bobby in Company Sutton Foster : The Baker's wife in Into the Woods Kristin Chenoweth : the mother in Ragtime
Megan Hilty as Queenie in THE WILD PARTY (I know she already did it, but I wanna see her on Broadway) Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Huckleberry Finn in BIG RIVER (think about it) Ramin Karimloo as Agwe in ONCE ON THIS ISLAND

Also at the top of my list at the moment is Marin Mazzie's Francesca (BRIDGES), and Kate Winslet and Emma Watson in the NEXT TO NORMAL film*.
* it doesn't exist.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
*Samantha Barks as Mary Magdalene in "Jesus Christ Superstar"
It could work, but it's not gonna blow anyone away.
Alright, I'm gonna cast the principals for a whole show this time. I've often spoken on here about perhaps putting a version of Tanz der Vampire more faithful to the German original on the English stage. And though my dream cast changes from moment to moment, here's who I'd pick now, taking into account the realities of Broadway casting at this present space and time:
In order of appearance...
Alfred . . . . . . . . . DANIEL RADCLIFFE Chagal . . . . . . . . . CHIP ZIEN Magda . . . . . . . . . ANNELIESE VAN DER POL Rebecca . . . . . . . . . CHRISTINE PEDI Professor Abronsius . . . . . . . . . WALLACE SHAWN Sarah . . . . . . . . . ANNA KENDRICK Count von Krolock . . . . . . . . . VILLE VALO (lead singer of H.I.M.) Koukol . . . . . . . . . RICHARD O'BRIEN Herbert . . . . . . . . . CHRIS COLFER
Incredibly wishful thinking. Incredibly. But I'd love to see it. Of those listed, Radcliffe is one of the most likely choices to actually do it.
