On February 3, as Mattie Fae. Ashley and Parsons together will be something to see.
Ashley to August
This I'll have to see.
Thank God A:OC will still be playing after the mass exodus on of January 2009.
The casting folks for this show NEVER disappoint.
Ms. Ashley is going to kick serious tush in this role.
I've gone out of my way to see Ms. Ashley every time she's appeared on stage in NY or DC and she's kicked serious tush EVERY time. This is just what OC needed! Does anyone have dates for her and Ms. Parsons runs in the show?
It truly is a wonderful vehicle to showcase some of our "older" Broadway gems.

pretty ballsy to cast someone new and noteworthy given their recent attendance records. can this show play through February at 50% capacity?
This is very exciting news and will certainly get me back to the Music Box.
But, I too, was surprised by this announcement. I figured the show would close up shop sometime in January.
This is truly inspired casting...so excited to see this show again in February!
I can't imagine her performance will be anything less than stellar. She's marvelous at 69 years young.
So glad that this show will still be open during the winter. Hopefully I'll finally get to see it.
I am so excited by this news. I will definitely be returning to see this now.
I just recently got the first season of Evening Shade on DVD. She was so hysterical.
I still want Laurie Metclaf to join the cast.
That would be fantastic to have Laurie Metcalf in the show. Hopefully she'll be busy with The Quality of Life soon on Broadway...
When I read the Playbill article I figured she'd play Mattie Fae (though she said in an interview that she would love to play Violet). It is inspired casting indeed, she will be wonderful. Would love to get a chance to see her.
Has "Dividing the Estate" posted it's closing date already, is it a limited run, or is she bailing out of it early to join "Osage"?
DIVIDING THE ESTATE is scheduled to close January 4th. It's a limited run produced by Lincoln Center so it's closing the date it was originally planned to close.
I hope the show lasts long enough for Stanley to join. Will they replace Parsons? I wish they got a name for Vi or Barbara.
"In addition to Parsons, the cast of August: Osage County at the time Ashley joins the show will include original cast members Kimberly Guerrero, Brian Kerwin, Madeleine Martin, Mariann Mayberry, Sally Murphy and Troy West, along with Guy Boyd, Johanna Day, Michael McGuire, Michael Milligan and Frank Wood."
All those OBCs are coming back after London??? I may have been under a rock and this is old news, but HOW THE HELL ARE THOSE PEOPLE NOT EFFING EXHAUSTED TO DEATH?!?
Wow, I didn't notice that. I can't believe Sally Murphy and Mariann Mayberry are coming back, they are fascinating in their roles beyond words (especially Mariann). When I first saw it, I wasn't too fond of Murphy but the second time--her last performance--she captivated me in the role, she was great. Guerrero is pretty good too. I really hope I get to see them all along with Ashley and the brilliant Parsons (her Violet has gotten so good that I wish they brought back the replacement category in the Tonys).
Now, just replace Day with Laurie Metcalf, Kristen Johnston, or Cynthia Nixon.
Great interview with Ms. Ashley from a few years back

i agree that Laurie Metcalf or Cynthia Nixon would be phenomenal casting choices, but why would anyone replace Johanna Day?
She was the best thing about the production when I saw it last week.
I'm holding hope against the odds that this will hold on through March...my HS kids have tix to see this! They will be really dissappointed if we have to chose a replacement! Keeping my fingers crossed!
Love the casting! I don't mind not having "names" in it otherwise...unless the poster above meant using more names to get the audiences in!
I saw August last night. And while Babara is one of the showier roles as written, Ms. Day was brilliant.
Has anyone caught Ms. Ashley's performance?
She looks stunning in the photos from her opening night in the production. Money's tight, but I think another visit to A:OC may be due...
