If it's as good as his last play with a weird title, I'll be delighted."
It's not. As much as I loved Heroes and Corsicana, this was a miss. I think it might be good after a few rounds of rewrites but I didn't find it successful. Wasn't as bad as You Will Get Sick or Catch As Catch Can though (not related but just some of the current Off-Broadway offerings on now).

I saw it this weekend and loved it, though I see why it’s not up everyone’s alley. It was very much up mine. Love this sort of weird, semi-realism that takes a turn for the surreal. And I found the themes extremely resonant.
Funnily enough, in the video I refer to the play as “hilariously weird” just like someone else did above, and I also mention that I’ve heard people call the title awkward. But I hadn’t even read this thread beforehand! Lol
I can definitely see how some may love how offbeat and ambitious this play is in form, but I just found it frustrating and heavy handed. Too many red herrings, too.
But certainly he's a talent and there are some interesting ideas here.
Also, I'm starting to notice an interesting string of Taymor's show - Daddy, Pass Over, and now this - all had considerable Act III issues, where the play goes off the stylistic deep end and the production can't support it. Heroes certainly was the wonderful exception, of course.
