Or "Contact" from Rent.
Perhaps Turpin's "Johanna (Reprise)" from Sweeney Todd?

Here is the OFFICIAL N2N arrangement for choirs...
Much more appropriate (but still corny)

There have been many groups this competition season that have done songs from Next to Normal. For the past 5 weekends we have had competitions and atleast one group did a Next to Normal song. So far I've seen Am I the One, Light, I'm Alive, and Wish I Were Here. Some have been good and others have been horrid!
Here is one I found on youtube
Wish I Were Here

^ Wow. That "Wish I Were Here" is pretty damn awful.

These are all awful. I doubt any of these children have a clue what they're singing about.
There is just something inherently wrong with all the peppy upbeat dancing to these songs.

I'm Alive was the least awful of all of those. At least the men in that group could sing. The women really ruin that song. They are WAYYYYYY too "choir-y". If that makes sense. They sound like a church choir. The men sound normal and pretty good.

That's odd as I would have expected the Show Choirs to do "Superboy and the Invisible Girl" - that's the song that should really speak to them.

The video has made its way to the Booth Theatre and Kyle Dean Massey (at least) loves it!

My God people. They are high school students! I think it is great that they decided to tackle the Next to Normal music (Which I really don't like) and I think they did a very good job for a High School glee club. I bet they disabled the comments under the video so they wouldn't have to put up with negative comments like the ones here.

What an incredibly sycophantic audience.
And how strange that 6 people on the OBCR can make a bigger and fuller sound than 30 plus there.

Is it just my speakers or did that first girl sound atrocious? There is also an infomercial on in the background of my room. I'm seriously asking this question!
Into the Woods, Beauty and the Beast, RENT, Mamma Mia!, Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde, Evita (with Julia Murney), Hairspray (with Paul Vogt), Peter and the Starcatchers (with Christian Borle), Lion King, Altar Boyz, Legally Blonde (with Lauren Zackrin).

I think everyone needs to get over themselves here..
Yes.. they are out of context from the show.. but they are just performing them as single entities. Its all for fun, and it looks like they are having fun.
At least these schools are supporting the arts in some way, and having a damn good time doing it! Who knew having fun, sharing an art form, and doing something you love could be a crime...

It hasn't made it to youtube yet, but Olentangy Show Choir did a fantastic mashup of I'm Alive and I Sing The Body Electric this season.
