Loved Harvey's little appearance towards the end of the trio "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now" track, plus that little "Go, Ricki! Go, Ricki!" chant after the song is over.

I'm really pissed off that this is only available in the US. I've tried going through proxy sites and everything. I really want to hear it.

I'm sorry, but I can't stand the "Without Love." They killed my favorite song from the show.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

Rapturous!!!!
I am enthralled.
I JUST wish "Mama I'm A Big Girl Now " was IN the movie, not AFTER.
Honestly, Adam, what would a few more wonderful moments have really meant?
The song is a Broadway classic and it will be missed.

Thank You, Marc! You have just transported me back to that amazing summer of '78 as a kid rushing home to listen to the "Grease" soundtrack before the film came out. Amazing work. You have every right to be proud. The movie musical is truly back!

I'm a little confused about COOTIES coming after YOU CAN'T STOP THE BEAT. It's out of the film, I assume. Oh, well.
Amanda Bynes sounds pretty good. And I thoroughly enjoyed WITHOUT LOVE.
Nikki Blonsky is great, if not a little too old sounding at the beginning of WELCOME TO THE 60'S. Her GOOD MORNING BALTIMORE is fabulous. I love her Oh-Oh-Oh's.
Travolta is pretty good, but YOU'RE TIMELESS TO ME leaves something to be desired. I guess the screen will tell.
Can't wait to see this.
Marc, what a phenomenal score! I can never get over the fact that this score is so utterly transporting.

Oh God, WHY??! I hate when people post stuff like this.
"I mean, sitting side by side with another man watching Patti LuPone play Rose in GYPSY on Broadway is essentially the equivalent of having hardcore sex." -Wanna Be A Foster.
"Say 'Goody.' Say 'Bubbi.'" ... "That's it. Exactly as if it were 'Goody.' Now I know you're gonna sing 'Goody' this time, but nevertheless..."

Spoilers below...
"Cooties" is Amber's song at the end during the dance-off, where they're taking the final votes to elect Miss Hairspray. As the number starts, she says that the song is about Tracy, and sings about how she is unhygenic and a target for cooties and vermin. It's one of my favourite songs on the OBCR, though the lyrics are different from what's on stage...I'm sure that Marc S. could tell us why it was changed at some point.
Haven't seen the new movie, but if it follows the structure of the original (which used 60's track "The Roach" to a similar effect) and the stage version, Cooties should definately come before YCSTB.

Marc, I think the whole thing is wonderful, honestly.
Terrific orchestrations...some of your best work yet. I just didn't know where "Cooties" was being fit in with that style. Then I actually woke up and realized that it's an over the credits song.
I had never heard of Aimee Allen so I figured it was being sung by another cast member.
Love the new songs, though. Truly. Here's hoping Oscar loves them, too.

thanks!
here is a posting I wrote into another thread the other day
the CD version of "COOTIES" is in the End Titles of the movie, the only place this modern track could appear.
One day my associate Lucian (www.myspace.com/revolucian) and I wondered "what song from HAIRSPRAY could we do a up-to-date arrangement of without it being a grotesque bastardization?". So Lucian took the reigns and made a fun, modern pop dance track. That's his friend Aimee Allen singing, she is too die for, a talented songwriter who we were blessed to have sing this for us. She is fabulous.
Can't wait for you to BUY THE CD and BLAST THAT CUT in your car!!! I do, and it is FUN!

Amoni, I was just going to say the same thing about being transported back to summer of 1978.
Marc, this music makes me feel like a kid all over again!!
I LOVE the arrangement for Cooties. What a fun song. The whole recording is amazing. Now I just can't wait for Amazon to mail me out my copy.
