"Falsettos,” the Tony Award-winning musical about a man who leaves his wife and son to be with another man in the early years of the AIDS crisis, will be revived on Broadway in the spring of 2016, the show’s producer, Jordan Roth, announced on Thursday."
‘Falsettos’ to Return to Broadway in 2016
Amazing! And a very interesting way this came about happening.
Oh. My. God.
I am THRILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Laura Benanti as Trina, please god please.
I wish they had a new director, but I'm excited to finally see it!

"Hiiiiii, Whizzer! Whizzer, hello!"
"Something's going 'round, a virus has been found!"
Red ribbon. Standing O. Thank you audience for doing your part by seeing this show.
Good night!!!!
I'm picking up some travel size Kleenex which I will keep in my bag until 2016.
Then after Unlikely Lovers, when the audience is all sniffles and sobs, I'll be prepared.
Laura Benanti as Trina, please god please.
Benanti will be in SHE LOVES ME when this happens. Trina is the role Leslie Kritzer was born to play.
Kendra Kassenbaum would be a good Trina.
If Something Rotten is a hit and wins the Tony I wonder which theatre this will go into. If Something Rotten wins, then all the 5 houses from Jujamcyn will be taken.
The article doesn't say it's bound for a Jujacmyn house, necessarily. Roth could produce the show in another theater.

Here's my cast:
Michael Buble - Marvin
Anne Hathaway - Trinia
Hunter Parrish - Whizzer
Norbert Leo Butz - Mendel
"Jersey Boys might be closed by then too."
I hope not because I would love to see Jersey Boys make it to its 10th Anniversary in November!

So exciting!
I would love to see Megan Hilty as Trina and Michael Arden as Whizzer.
Leslie Kritzer would be FANTASTIC in this show.
My pipe dream would be Ewan McGregor as Marvin. Is Fiddler on the Roof still happening? Because I'd love Danny Burstein as Mendel.

"I would love to see Megan Hilty as Trina"
I love Megan Hilty, but she's just not Jewish enough for the role. The show relies heavily on the husband, wife and doctor being Jewish.

Faith Prince isn't Jewish, yet she had no trouble believably playing Trina.

I'm so excited for this. definitely one of my favorite shows, and I love the original cast recording.
very difficult roles to play - everyone has to have a strong voice and sing their face off for hours lol.
I know each act is only an hour long, but I wish they could do something like ANGELS IN AMERICA where MARCH OF THE FALSETTOS would play as a matinee, then there would be a dinner break and a return for FALSETTOLAND. (They could schedule them for 3 and 7 to make a more compact event.)
As much I loved FALSETTOS--and it is one of my favorite shows--it didn't compare to the intensity with which many of the same actors played MARCH OF THE FALSETTOS alone, knowing they had no "second act" for which to save their energy.
As for directors, I don't love everything Lapine does, but his direction of this show was so brilliant, it made me want to never direct anything again. I've seen other productions I enjoyed, but I don't know what director could improve on Lapine's work.
Anyway, however it develops, this is excellent news!
