Im also confused. The playbill article states they are starting in LA.
They are OPENING in SF, but previewing in the cities prior and teching in AR
They should call it a mini tour. They are mostly in CA (two months) and only going to nine cities.

So will they run through this like a normal show? Should I expect stoppages? I saw the revival on Broadway and it's not a super technical show. Just wondering if I should lower my expectations for the AR show I have tickets to

It will be more like final dress rehearsals. Running the show each night to make final little tweaks and what have you. Shouldn't be any stops unless something major major happens
schubox, I've been to plenty of early previews and a handful of dress rehearsals. I never experienced a stoppage.
This is a really odd cast to me. Like... I see why they would be cast, but I don't think any of them are particularly right for the show.
They're all a little too young and sexy looking for these roles. Even Whizzer's supposed to have aged out of his hustler days. But, in my experience, touring is rarely a business for character actors.
Agreed. Besides the women, not the voices I’d wanna hear sing the score. Or the actors I’d wanna see act this show. Hard pass.
Not sure if anyone would know the answer to this, but will this be staged like the revival? With the big cube of smaller pieces? I would think that would be pretty easy to travel with, but not sure if that plays as well in some of the larger theaters from these stops?
I think Nick Adams is a talented guy and a total sweetheart of a person, but he's so jacked that it's hard for me to believe him onstage unless he's playing a role that really requires that type of body.
He'll look fantastic in his racquetball outfit, though.

Yup, they are touring this production, so seems logical they would use the same set.

I hope this cast is better than the actual physical production.
My favorite part was when they took a portion of the set(?) and made a headstone for the dead Whizzer.
Really?!!?

They did the same "young and sexy" thing in the B'way revival.
Christian Borle and Andrew Rannells as Marvin and Whizzer looked like a "John" and his "Trick".
Mis-cast!
Stephanie J Block was cast well, and she was good when she wasn't chewing what little scenery there was.

I actually found that part extremely moving. The cube is a metaphor for the tight-knit family Marvin always wanted, but the thing that ultimately brings them all together is the fact that part of the cube (Whizzer), will forever be missing.

This shows the cities that are on the tour

Here in LA it is being advertised as "The Lincoln Center Production of", so I expect--but can't guarantee--that it will look like last year's revival in NYC.
Which is OK with me, but I thought the original MARCH was one of the best stagings of a musical I had ever seen, despite consisting of a few rolling chairs and little more. The cubes in the revival seemed a little clunky compared to the speed and grace of the original off-Broadway production.

I’m so tired of cheap being a metaphor.

Senior moment. Forgot I had already posted the same opinions.

Well, you basically have three locations: Trina's living room, Mendel's office and Whizzer's hospital room. What would you gain from a more expensive and elaborate set?
This cast seems right to me, more so than the LC production. I love Christian Borle in many shows, but thought he was miscast as a New York Jew, sorry.
