A Director said: "Ranger Tom - You stated, "I think it would open the nation up to a heightened appreciation of what Broadway is all about. These Fox/NBC trinkets don't make it happen."
You live in a narrow little world. There are people in the nation, beyond your little bubble, you come to New York City and see Broadway shows. There are people in the nation, beyond your little bubble, who see Broadway shows on tour. There are people in the nation, beyond your little bubble who see professional theatre productions where they live or near where they live."
Wow AD, a little coal in your stocking? You seem to live in an either/or (narrow little) world instead of both/and. Of course there are people in our country who see Broadway, tour companies, local professional theater, and even fun-loving community theater. Nothing in what I said pointed away from that. My point/intent was to get more recordings of shows on TV, in movie theaters, and anywhere else that can have a positive impact and open the experience to those who need a little more encouragement to get out of the house and go to the theater. Merry merry to you!
