I don't think I could have gotten excited about an airing of Brooklyn. Or In Transit.
Anyone know why pbs is releasing the Carousel concert on DVD in February? I thought Live From Lincoln Center broadcasts didn't get DVD releases.

Ranger Tom - You stated, "I think it would open the nation up to a heightened appreciation of what Broadway is all about. These Fox/NBC trinkets don't make it happen."
You live in a narrow little world. There are people in the nation, beyond your little bubble, you come to New York City and see Broadway shows. There are people in the nation, beyond your little bubble, who see Broadway shows on tour. There are people in the nation, beyond your little bubble who see professional theatre productions where they live or near where they live.

Was that Live From Lincoln Center, or was it Great Performances? I can't remember, and I'm too lazy to check my recorded DVD.
The Amazon listing is "Live From Lincoln Center: Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel DVD." That was my first thought too that it could be a mistake, but it was indeed part of the Live From Lincoln Center series.

Wow AD, a little coal in your stocking? You seem to live in an either/or (narrow little) world instead of both/and. Of course there are people in our country who see Broadway, tour companies, local professional theater, and even fun-loving community theater. Nothing in what I said pointed away from that. My point/intent was to get more recordings of shows on TV, in movie theaters, and anywhere else that can have a positive impact and open the experience to those who need a little more encouragement to get out of the house and go to the theater. Merry merry to you!

Just watching that little snippet makes me so excited to see this on PBS. I almost forgot how wonderful it was.... almost! Fingers crossed for Andrew and his Tony nom. Will be setting PVR for sure!
Sorry @Margo I don't read every thread and this seems to be the main thread on the site.

Coming soon??? I've had enough of this. I already missed all the good selections in the opera season because they can't be bothered to post the schedule on their website ahead of time.
