Saw Vanessa Williams at Tarzan. We were sitting next to Chicken Little (forgot his real name) from American Idol... that was within a month of him being booted. He was pretty nice. I felt like a bodyguard with all of the little girls coming down to see him during intermission. They were all on top of me trying to get to him.

2 out of the 3 times I saw In The Heights before bway, I saw two people. I sat right next to Stephen Schwarts the first time, and saw Amanda Bynes the second. I saw Andie McDowell at Legally Blonde, Lucy Arnaz at Xanadu, I know I saw a lot of others, but I can't think of them now.

And.....SCENE!

I saw next to Jessye Norman during a performance of The Search for Intelligent...in the Universe.

I remember because Lily Tomlin was sick and you could hear she had a cold. Ms. Norman and I had been chatting before the performance started (I felt bad for whoever was sitting behind her, she's HUGE!) and when Tomlin stopped to walk offstage for some water, she turned to me and said "I wish I could do that on stage"

I almost cracked up.

Lucas Grabeel of High School Musical fame at Spring Awakening. Poor guy was sick with a cough (it was in December, and it was raining) but he was still very sweet to everybody who saw him.

And I sat right next to Celeste Holm and her young husband at Mickey Rooney's show (not on Broadway, but exciting nonetheless). Updated On: 4/3/08 at 01:27 PM

Anthony Quinn at Some Men Need Help (he asked me where the bathroom was)
Liza Minelli and Andy Warhol at the same performance
Ethel Merman at Torch Song Trilogy -- she looked very unhappy with the show but went backstage anyway to tell Harvey Fierstein how much she didn't like it (he tells the story on himself). Everyone in the Little Theatre (Helen Hayes now) was trying to look nonchalant as they tried to peek at Ethel but the look on her face would have discouraged anyone.
George Bush, Sr. and Barbara Bush at The Producers
Johnny Mathis at Black and Blue
Thomas Dewey at Major Barbara
Maurice Evans at something I don't remember the name of
Walter Matthau at Long Day's Journey Into Night (Jack Lemmon version)
Rosalind Russell at Ages of Man (Gielgud one-man show)
Helen Hayes at Smile -- she autographed the program for me, which still hangs in a place of prominence in my apartment

John James (Dynasty) with his kid at Beauty and the Beast

Laura Bennett and Patricia Heaton (and husbands) at The Little Dog Laughed

Andrea Martin and Nathan Lane at Xanadu

Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, Victor Garber seated in front of and behind me at Encores "Lil Abner" in '98.

Mario Cantone at The Women--in the same cheap balcony seats as the rest of us)

I'm sure there are others, but my favorite is the most recent...John Waters at "August Osage County." I actually grew some nads and said hello, that I was a huge fan and immediately ran back into the theatre. He was very sweet about it.

ETA...Arthur Miller at the 1985 revival of "Death of A Salesman." He autographed the copy of the play I had with me.

Robert Sean Leonard at Company
Kristen Johnson at the Atlantic Theatre (a production last season, possibly the Voysey Inheritance)
Neve Campbell at Rent (back when Party of Five was still on the air!)

When I went to see Lennon, Yoko was sitting a few rows behind me. No matter what people think of the show, that was surreal.

I also met Boublil and Schonberg at the final performance of Pirate Queen. There was a crowd of people at intermission getting autographs so I thought, what the heck? It was a total Christmas Story moment though. I was speechless. "Football...what's a football?" LOL

One night at Encores--Sweet Adeline, I believe--I saw both Betty Comden and Kitty Carlisle Hart.

THAT was New York.

I peed next to Bob Fosse at the old Broadway Arts rehearsal studios, cigarette dangling from his lips as he stood at the urinal, deep in thought, but I've told that story before.
