Posted: 7/10/10 at 11:23pmI'm vegan, and as far as I know, the only place to get good vegan food in midtown is Zen Palate on 46th St. I recommend curry noodle soup!

Hannah Belle, Pong Sri on W 48th between Broadway and 8th has some yummy vegan thai options. I love that place and highly recommend it. It's cheap too.
I also love to go to Joe Allen-I love the staff and the food and you see lots of theatre folks post show. Kinda pricey though.
I also love Chez Josephine on W 42nd near Playwrights Horizon . It's a little unique, funky oasis with great food and drinks. It's also pretty pricey.

Posted: 7/10/10 at 11:32pmMy family has been to Juniors, Tony Di Napolis, and Blockheads the most. These are my parents favorite, and I usually let them pick since I am making them go into the city with me.

I'm at Blockheads all the time when the weather is nice. Arriba Arriba is also another of my favorites.
And add me to the list recommending Chez Josephine. It's a really great place with a one of a kind setting.

... because if you're lucky, you can sit on the patio and run to the Next To Juniors stage door.
I forgot the name of it, but my dad and I ate at the Mexican restaurant on 42nd Street, next to the American Airlines theatre, after watching Sondheim on Sondheim.

Posted: 7/10/10 at 11:53pmMy vote goes to Junior's. When I was there in May for a week, I ate there quite a bit - before & after the shows that I saw.

Posted: 7/10/10 at 11:53pmRuby Foo's is an exceptional chain in my opinion with great food and stellar drinks. I also just found out it was where Sherie Rene Scott was supposed to meet Dick Scanlon to brainstorm about "Everyday Rapture" but they both went to different locations. So if it's good enough for Sherie, it's good enough for me. :)

Posted: 7/11/10 at 12:00amI go to the Westway, the Cosmic Diner, Cosi, and Junior's a lot. It depends what block my show is on and what I feel like eating and whether I'm with my parents or not.

Posted: 7/11/10 at 12:05amSake Bar Hagi on 49th is wonderful and cheap if you are looking for Japanese. It isn't a sushi-centric menu, but more Japanese "pub"-fare. Lots of tempura and other yummy stuff (the pork belly with sprouts and green beans in a garlic sauce for $8 was mindblowing...as were the shrimp wontons with spicy mayo for $6). Definitely a well-kept secret in Times Square (you have to head downstairs right next door to the sushi bar on street level)...unless Time Out blew its cover in last week's edition.
